Chapter 6: A Commotion in the Early Morning

Early the next morning, Agamya woke up to the sound of a lot of bustling around the camp. She got dressed and left the cabin, searching for the source of this disturbance. She was drawn to a crowded area near the border. Once she arrived at the scene of the commotion she was able to clearly see the cause. Somehow, a monster had broken into the camp and was now being hopelessly fought by a handful of campers. Ignoring shouts at everyone to stay back, Agi rushed to assist. She grabbed a knife on her way there and immediately started to scan for ways to take out the monster. It had a bull's head and a man's body. A minotaur. She studied the fight for a moment and noticed it was weakest on its left side. The girl waited patiently for a chance to strike. Soon, that chance came. The minotaur had already struck down one of the demigods. It had turned away from the left and was focusing on its right and front. She charged from the left-back and plunged the knife through its heart. It roared in anguish and arched its back, scraping her abdomen before disappearing in a pile of dust. She fell back, panting and clutching her stomach. A boy rushed up to her, whom she recognized as Kade, the boy she'd met the day before. That was all the information she was able to process before passing out for the second time during her stay at Camp Half-Blood.

Kade lifted the girl with some help from another medic, and together they took her to the infirmary to be treated. The other demigods who had been involved in the fight were also being taken care of. The scratches on Agamya's stomach were pretty deep. Kit, the older kid from the previous day, had also been involved in the fight. Much to their resentment, they had taken off their jacket to reveal many unknown scars. Nobody questioned it, to the teen's relief and surprise.
