~Agamya~

The rest of the day was pretty much a blur for me. Apollo kids coming and going, having my bandages changed a couple of times, falling in and out of focus of the world around me. My wound gave me a constant burning feeling in my stomach.
Eventually I was able to sit up, though I had to lean against a pillow to stay sitting. Kit had finally gotten permission to get out of bed, and immediately put on their usual clothes. They approached me and sat on the edge of my bed.
"How are you holding up?" they asked.
    "Better," I stated nonchalantly.
"So you got claimed," Kit mentioned. "I suspected you might be a cabin 6 kid."
"Does that mean I'll be in a different cabin now that I know my godly parent?" I inquired.
Before Kit could reply, a bolt of pain shot through my abdomen. I hate to say it, but I may have let out a (small!) pathetic whimper. I crumpled in on myself, hugging my stomach. Kit had to force my arms off my wound so I wouldn't harm myself any further. I shut my eyes tight and tried to block out the pain.
Kit may have called out to a medic, at this point my vision swarmed bright and dark around me.
"We'll have to stitch that up, it's not closing," I heard a voice at my side say. "We can't ignore the depth of the wounds any longer...." the rest faded out as the pain caused a pounding ringing in my ears. I hardly even felt the anesthesia being injected into my arm as the medics prepared to stitch up my stomach.

What seemed like only a couple seconds later, I awoke in a cold sweat. I tried to sit up, but someone to my right pushed me down. I recognized Kade, the nice boy who had helped me.
Wait a moment, I thought, since when do I just hand out compliments willy nilly? (Shut up I know that's an old word, it's fun to say).
I shook the thought away and complied, laying back down.
"Good morning," I heard someone snidely remark on my left. I turned my head and saw Kit.
"How long was I out?" I asked in a whisper of my old assertive tone.
"Three days," Kit replied. "Kade here stayed with you the entire time." I noticed Kade's cheeks flush a light pink as they spoke.
"Thank you," I told him, doing my best to remain level headed despite the butterflies that had somehow formed in my stomach. It probably didn't work, judging by the way Kit smirked at the two of us.
"How are you feeling?" Kade thankfully disrupted the awkward silence.
"Better," I replied simply.
"That's good," he nodded as if reassuring himself more than me. Kit stood up.
"I better get back to my counselor duties. You two have fun!" They grinned once again and sauntered off. I looked down and saw stitches going across my wounds. I figured they might scar a bit, but I didn't worry too much about that.
"I'm guessing this," I gestured to my stomach, "means I'll be staying a bit longer than I thought."
Kade nodded, an apologetic look on his face. I stared up at the ceiling, and Kade and I sat in silence for a few minutes. Or hours. At some point, I lost track of time.

At long last, Kade seemed to recall having to do something. He stood up briskly.
"I'm sorry Agi, but I have to go get ready for my night shift."
I nodded, hoping he understood that it didn't bother me that he had to leave. He took my confirmation and left the infirmary. I closed my eyes. Despite being asleep for three days, I was exhausted. Maybe I could hope to catch some rest.
