The plan was simple. Go to Ashton's interrogate his parents and then leave. Sure it isn't the most fine tuned plan ever but hey, were only kids for Christ sakes. "You ready?" Luke asks, walking out of the bathroom.

"Yeah - uh Luke?"

"Huh?"

"You've got a little - here." I wet the tip of my finger and wipe the remainder of pizza sauce Luke had collected on the side of his lip. "There." His cheeks flush and he quickly looks down to his feet.

"That's embarrassing." I chuckle throwing my bag over my shoulder.

"Don't worry. Let's go." Luke nods, grabbing his bag and following me out the door.

Ashton's room was exactly the way he'd left it. Since Luke was downstairs talking to Ashton's mom I decided to snoop around his room, which I automatically regretted once I saw all the dirty laundry thrown about the room.

Trying to ignore the filth I walk straight to his bed and pull out his 'secret box'. He kept everything in here - I'm dead serious. First haircut clippings, first photos, high school photos, toe nails (ew) , you name it he's got it. I wasn't looking for the gross keepsakes he kept, I was looking for his journal. He's had the thing forever, and he wrote everything it.

My eyes land in the black leather and I quickly snatch it up. This is literally all his darkest secrets and deepest thought, and I'm about to open it. I've always wanted to sneak a peek into the book but he's always so protective of it. On that note I carefully (not) open the book. First page has his name, address and number. Second page is some embarrassing story about him and Luke. Third page is about me? Curiously I begin to read,

Dear Journal,

It's the beginning of sixth grade! I've made it. Today I met two guys who seem cool. Their names are Michael and Calum. They've known each other forever so I felt a bit left out. But I also met this one girl. Her names Delilah, she sits behind me in maths. She's really pretty. She doesn't talk much, I think she's shy. I hope me and her can become friends. I'd like that. We'll I have to go to dinner now, write tomorrow.

Ash xo

I smile going to turn the page, only to have the book ripped from my hands. "What're hell are you doing!?"
