NOT EDITED

A whole week of nothing. Literally.
Luke's come round for a few days but that didn't seem to make much of a difference. I mean yeah Luke's nice to talk to but it's hard lying to him.

"Hey," I hear a knock on my door. I roll my eyes and shove my face deeper into my pillow knowing who it was. "You okay?"

"Yeah," I sighed, my face still hidden in my pillow. "I'm not not really in the mood, alright?"

"Oh... O-Okay." He sighed heavily. the room was silent but I could still feel him standing there. "Y-You know I understand how you f-feel."

"I'm sorry?" I sat up, giving him a weird look as he ran his hand nervously threw his hair causing him to mess up the almost perfect quiff.

"I said I know what it's like," He repeated, taking a seat on my bed. "You aren't the only one who lost a friend. Ash was my friend too-"

"He's not dead." I blurt, shaking my head.

"Excuse me?" Luke said, shooting me an odd glance. "His funeral was only a week ago..."

"He wasn't in there," I replied, sucking in a deep breath. "I checked. Did you just think I was just being heartless not crying and all?"

"That makes n-no sense?" Luke continued to look at me with that baffled glance, until he slowly realised that I was right. "B-But why would his parents hold a mock funeral then?"

I shrug laying back on my bed, "Maybe their hiding something." Luke scoffs.

"Ashton's parents, hiding something? As if."

"It was just a suggestion." I mutter running my hands threw my own hair. The room was silent, I could tell Luke was thinking but what about, I had no idea.

"Delilah, what if his parents are really hiding something?" He asks, nervously playing with his hands. "L-Like something big..."

"I don't know. You just said they can't hide anything-"

"Maybe they can." He quickly shifts to face me. "What if their hiding something so big they had to fake Ashton's death to keep it hidden."

"Luke... your scaring me." He shoots up and begins to pace around the room.

"We have to know the truth." He whispers to himself, "Don't we?" I nod slowly, not really sure how to react to this. "Then me and you will find it. Are you in?"

"Hell yeah." Luke smiles and whips out his phone. "What are you doing?" I ask. He puts his finger to his mouth shushing me.

"Hey mum, I'm good actually I just wanted to tell you I'm gunna hang out here for a few days...yes I swear I be careful mum... alright love you...bye." I laugh as he hangs up. "What?"

"You had to call your mother." He rolls his eyes and takes his seat at the foot of my bed. "Now, how exactly are we gunna do this?"
