When Ezra woke that night, he was alone in a regular hospital room. How long had he been asleep? The last thing he remembered was heading to fetch a spy and...

It hit him like a speeder.

Everything that had happened-the weird force possession, the blinding light, the healing. And Kanan.

Kanan could see.

Ezra sat up straight in his bed, blinking and wiping sleep from his eyes. His face was wet. Had he been crying? He couldn't remember his dreams, just darkness. He looked around slowly, taking in his surroundings. His eyes landed on a sleeping figure in the corner, not who he expected to see. Hera had her arms crossed her her chest, her head leaning back against the wall.

"Hera." Ezra said, swinging his legs out and rising to a sitting position. She didn't stir, so Ezra decided not to wake her. He got up slowly, slipping his boots onto his feet as quietly as he could. Hera had looked absolutely exhausted, it was the least he could do for her.

Upon opening the door to his room, he was met with even more severe darkness than what had been in his room. What time was it? Usually medical personnel and soldiers alike walked the halls to the infirmary all hours of the day and night. But it was like a ghost town. He didn't see any doctors, and he hadn't seen Kanan yet.

Ezra continued down the hall, slowly. There had been a dim light every hundred feet or so, just bright enough you could make out where the doors and stairs were.

"Hello?" Ezra half-whispered, confusion weighing heavy on his soul. What the heck was going on? Suddenly Ezra felt a cold hand grasp his wrist, puling him into a dark closet he hadn't noticed before. "What the-?" Ezra cursed, yanking his hand free. His eyes hadn't fully adjuste yet and he couldn't see the person ahead of him. "Who's there!?" He whisper-shouted.

"Shhh!" The other person put a hand to his mouth and Ezra fought. Surely this couldn't have been anyone from his family, they would've greeted him, made themselves known. Whoever had him now didn't want to be known. Ezra stopped struggling when it was apparent he couldn't break his captor's iron grasp, and he heard footsteps coming. Loud, scarily uniform footsteps. Like the footsteps of a...

"No sign of him, sir," the stormtrooper said through a com link. Ezra fought the urge to gasp. He saw at least ten of them through a crack in the door, but they hadn't seen him yet. Ezra heard a muffled response, and then the stormtrooper say. "Yes sir, we'll head to the next floor."

After the troopers had cleared, Ezra used the element of surprise and pulled himself free of the man. His captor stumbled backwards, stopping himself just before he crashed into a nearby shelf. Ezra realized he was in some sort of storage room, but not the kind on Chopper Base.

He was not on Chopper Base.

"Ezra, you need to get out of here." His captor's muffled voice came with a cough and Ezra turned to face the man once again. His eyes had adjusted, but the man had put his hood up. "You can get out, you can go home."

"But, I thought I'd seen-"

"-your friend? It was a trap, Ezra. An Empire trap. You have to forget about whoever you saw, Ezra. It wasn't them. They aren't here."

"Yes, yes they are. Please, I just need to go back."

"No, Ezra Bridger. If you go back I cannot help you. Please, just come with me. Further into the base, I know how we can escape."

"No-" Ezra shook his head, backing into the door. "I can't go with you, I have to go back." Ezra backed into the hall slowly, and right into the hands of a stormtrooper.

"I've got him!" The stormtrooper called, holding him close. "We can return Minar to Lord Vader!"

"Help!" Ezra screamed to the person who had saved him once already. But the figure had vanished, disappearing into the shadows it seemed.

Not again, Ezra thought, fear holding his stomach, please not again.

Ezra screamed and thrashed, and was soon knocked out by the trooper. He couldn't remember where he was or what had happened, but he knew he wasn't supposed to be there.

He reached through the force to find Kanan, but came back empty-handed. Where was he? What had happened?
