I didn't know what to do. I was confused, a little tired, but awake and alarmed. The first thing I had heard was Sophie screaming, thats why I had asked what was going on. No one answered me of course, they were all looking at something to my left. At first I thought that some random party thing was happening until I saw the blood, and then fully registered that Sophie was screaming in pain.

The first thing I thought was that she had been killed, or dying, and I started fighting the gnome trying to hold me down.

"Calm down!" I heard him say, only loud enough so I could hear. "Moonlark will be fine."

Moonlark. I've only heard a few people call her that, and I hate it when people call her Moonlark. Just another reminder of her past, and that she's not normal.

I started to calm down a little when I realized that the gnome worked for the Black Swan. Another gnome came over, female this time, and told me to drink something. Sophie was still screaming, but I quickly drank it, hoping it would take away my hearing. It didn't. If anything, I was able to see and hear better.

I covered my ears with my hands, wishing I could make the sound go away. The male gnome came back with a bottle of youth, but I wasn't thirsty.

"You need to drink this." He told me. "Your voice sounds scratchy."

It was, but I just assumed that was because I had been asleep. The only question was, how long have I been asleep?

The gnome shoved the bottle into my hands, breaking me out of my thoughts. I drank about half of the bottle, and then I started coughing so I set the bottle down. The gnome didn't look very happy, but he let it slide and went back over to the table next to the female gnome.

I looked around the room to see who was all here. Tam, Linh, Biana, Alden, Della, Wylie, Marella, Mr and Mrs Dizznee, Mr. Forkle, and of course Sophie. I couldn't see Sophie though, but I assumed Grady and Edaline were next to her. Dex most likely as well because his parents were here. But I couldn't see Fitz. Maybe he was standing next to her, but last time I was fully awake Sophie and Fitz weren't really on good terms. What all happened while I was asleep?

Sophie's screams started to die out, and my mind instantly pictured the worst. The male gnome came back over to me when he saw that I was panicking and tried to calm me down.

"She's okay." He said.

I don't know why, but something about the way he was looking at me started to make me calm down. He slowly pushed me back, and I instantly sank into my pillow, realizing how tired I was for the first time. Funny, as I had just woken up. As I was laying there, I started to notice that people were starting to look at me. I almost felt embarrassed, I mean, I had just woken up. These elves could have some decency to give me some privacy.

Once I had some more energy, which basically means I had none, I started to lean forward to try and see Sophie. Once I finally could see, I saw Grady, Edaline, Dex, and of course Fitz standing next to Sophie. Fitz was the last one to notice me.

I won't lie, seeing Fitz next to Sophie did make me feel a little jealous. What was he doing here? He broke up with Sophie, shouldn't he be standing next to Biana, farther away or something? They probably made up and became friends again, and I tried to tell myself that but it was hard.

The room was silent, and I was the only one moving. Well, except for Sophie. She still couldn't see me and I couldn't see her. Fitz turned and looked at Sophie, and then took a step back.

And there she was. Sophie. Her hair was sticking to her face from sweat and her eye's were fighting to stay open. Her upper arm was cut and her bandages were stained red. She looked tired and exhausted, but she was still smiling a little. That's the Sophie I know, staying strong even through the pain. It took me a second to realize she was smiling at Fitz, which made me jealous again.
