Episode 1: The boy in the iceberg
Season 1Chapter 2 Wake Up
Third person POV.
“It’s not getting away from me this time. Watch and learn Katara” Sokka said holding his spear ready to get the fish he has been eyeing for sometime now.
Both siblings were turned away from each other. Katara at one end as Sokka was on the other end. He slightly takes a peek at his younger sister and then back to the fish, “This is how you catch a fish” he said.
Katara was not interested in her older brother's way of trying to catch fish, she has seen him do this many times now and heard him say that to her way more. She was bored just sitting back here doing nothing. She looks away from her brother to the water and spots another fish.
Her eyes follow it slowly, swimming away from her. She moves back and takes one glove off, she takes a breath in and out not really sure what she was really going to try and do… again. She knew she could do some waterbending and she wanted to practise or show her brother that she could do it. She starts to sway her hand up and down and a couple of sways later the water started to form around the fish she had seen a minute ago.
Both of Katara's hands sway now to keep the fish up into the air, “Sokka, look!” she yells out to her older brother. “Shhh! Katara you're gonna scare it away” he whispers out. “Hmmm, I can already smell it cooking” he adds on. He was starving and the fish was making his mouth water.
“But, Sokka, I caught one!” she said loudly. She was doing her best to waterbend and move it over the canoe, but before anything else could happen Sokka brought his spear up and popped the water causing the bubble to fall over him, soaking him and letting the fish go back into the water safe for another day, “Hey!” she yells out.
Sokka turns to his younger sister soaking wet, “Why is it that every time you play with Magic Water, I get soaked?” he asks her annoyedly. He was wet once again because his younger sister keeps playing with Magic Water.
“Ugh, it's not magic, its waterbending. And its-”
“Yeah, yeah! An ancient art, unique to our culture, blah blah blah. Look, I’m just saying that if I had real powers, I'd keep my weirdness to myself” he said.
Katara crosses her arms over her chest and glares at the back of her brother's head, “You're calling me weird? I'm not the one who makes muscles at myself everytime i see my reflection in the water” she said, smirking at him.
Sokka was doing what she was saying, looking at his muscles in the water's reflection. He slowly turns to his sister pulling his sleeve down. He was going to say something back to her but before he could their small canoe bumps into some things and everything started to move fast. The canoe was stuck going down a fast danguars root. Their small canoe was moving in the water fast as Sokka tried to keep it away from any ice.
“Watch out!” Katara yells out. Two icebergs were moving together blocking them in, “Go left! Go left!” she yells out desperately. Everything around them was moving so fast as Sokka did his best to keep the both of them safe.
As he tried to keep the both of them safe he didn't realize that his left wrist and now arm was feeling… different. He didn't realize the color coming to life on his arm telling him that his soulmate was alive.
As Sokka tried to keep them safe they ended up stuck on a block of ice, “You call that left?” Katara asks her brother, annoyed.
“You don't like my steering? You should have maybe waterbend us out of the ice” he said, moving his hands up and then to the side. Katare glared at her brother even more, “So it's my fault?” she snaps out.
