Two Cats

Carina's POV

I sigh as I look out my window longingly. I have not been able to leave the house since Hermione left after our sleepover. I still haven't got my school books either. My aunt and uncle won't even let me play in the back yard. Only time I hear about what's happening outside is through them, Nymph and my friends. Like how Harry ran away from home and is spending the rest the holidays at the Leaky Cauldron. How the Weasleys get back today and will be spending the last day of the holidays at the Leaky Cauldron with Hermione and Harry. Hermione is having a sleepover with Ginny as her parents have some sort of important meeting tomorrow and the Weasleys agreed to take her to the train station.

Someone knocks on my door and I look over to see Nymph. "Hi Carina, you ok?" she asks me.

"No, I'm bored" I whine.

"What if I said I had something that would cheer you up?" she asks me.

"And what would that be?" I ask her curious.

"Two things" she states. "The first being, you are going to spend the rest of the summer with your friends at the Leaky Cauldron" she tells me.

"Seriously?" I ask excited.

"Seriously, I'm dropping you off in an hour. So I'm here to help you finish packing" she states.

"What's the other thing?" I ask as we start to pack my nearly fully packed trunk. Just then Aunt Andy and Uncle Ted appear. Uncle Ted carrying books and Aunt Andy carrying a box.

"Your school books" Uncle Ted says handing them to Nymph. Who puts them into my trunk.

"And a gift from Nymphadora" Aunt Andy says handing me the box.

"It's Tonks or Dora" Nymph grumbles.  I take the box and open it. To see a young female grey tabby cat with folded ears. "She's a Scottish fold, her name is Honoria" Nymph explains.

"She's gorgeous, thank you" I say as I give her a pat.

"Figured since I'm borrowing Amber, you need some animal company at Hogwarts. So I went to the magical pet store in Diagon Alley and got her" she explains. She summons a cat carrier and I place Honoria down. She goes into it and curls up falling asleep. Aunt Andy and Uncle Ted left us be. Nymph and I finish packing, & I seal Honoria in.

(Time skip)

Nymph apparates us to the Leaky Cauldron. Mrs Weasley greets us and promises to take good care of me. Nymph left and Mrs Weasley showed me to my room for the night. "Hi Ginny" I say with a smile giving her hug. "How was Egypt?" I ask her curious.

"Oh it was great, I'll tell you and Hermione about all of it later" she states.

"Speaking of Hermione, where is she?" I ask her.

"In Diagon Alley with Ron, looking for Harry. Her parents even gave her extra money so she can buy a pet for her birthday" she states.

"What sort of pet?" I ask her curious.

"She said she was getting an owl" she states.

"I'm gonna go find them and say hi to Harry. Can you watch my new cat Honoria while I'm gone?" I ask her. She nods her head and I open Honoria's carrier before leaving the room. I head to Diagon Alley to see the trio entering the pet store. I rush over and hug Harry along with Hermione. "Hi guys" I say smiling.

"Carina, they let you out!" Hermione cheers hugging me.

"Yep and I'm here for the night. Mrs Weasley said she'd make sure I get to the station tomorrow" I state.

"Great to see you Carina" Harry says with a smile. I notice Ron talking to the clerk about his rat. Who looks really thin and sickly.

"Damn, what happened to my less favourite rat?" I ask.

"Don't know, he's been sick since we got back from Egypt. I'm hoping to get something to help him" Ron states.

"Well, if you don't want a replacement, you can try this rat tonic" the clerk states placing it on the counter beside Scabbers.

"Okay, how much..." Ron starts to ask. "Ouch!" he yells grabbing his head. He buckled as something huge and orange came soaring from the top of the highest cage. Landed on his head, and then propelled itself, spitting madly, at Scabbers.

"NO, CROOKSHANKS, NO!" the clerk yells. But Scabbers shot off of the table, landed splay-legged on the floor, and then scampered for the door. Ron yells his name and chases after him, with Harry on his tail. "I'm sorry" the clerk says as she hols the ginger flat faced cat.

"It's alright, what's this cat's story?" I ask curious.

"Crookshanks has been with us for quiet some time now. No on seems to want him" she states.

"How much?" Hermione asks her as she pats him.

"Five galleons and you can have a carrier for free" the clerk states.

"Deal, I'll need some food for him also" Hermione tells her. The clerk smiles and goes to get everything Hermione needs. After handing Crookshanks to her.

"I hope Honoria will like him" I say as I pat Crookshanks.

"Who?" Hermione asks me confused.

"My new cat, Nymph gave her to me today as I'm letting her use Amber until Sirius Black is caught" I state.

"I can't wait to meet her" Hermione states. The clerk comes back and I pay for Ron's rat tonic. Hermione pays for Crookshanks and his food before me left. Needless to say Ron was not impressed when he found out Hermione had brought Crookshanks. So the boys returned to the Leaky Cauldron while Hermione went with me to get new robes. Madame Malkin said she'd have my new robes delivered to my room at the Leaky Cauldron. So we left.

We arrive to hear Ron yelling and see Scabber running with Honoria chasing him. I swoop down and scope Honoria up as Ron catches his rat. "Sorry Ron, guess Honoria doesn't like rats" I state. Hermione and I leave before Ron can start yelling. Once we were in our room with the door shut. We put the cats down and they sniff each other. At least the two cats are getting along.
