Carina Black: Fanfic

First Day

Carina's POV

I wake up at seven thirty and got dressed into my new Ravenclaw uniform. I then go down into the common room. Where I see Padma Patil. "Hi, did you want to go down to the great hall together?" I ask her.

"Sure" she says smiling gently. We leave the common room and head for the magical stairs. "We just go down to the ground floor right?" she asks me.

"Yes and then go left I believe" I tell her. So that's what we did. But then we got to another cross section and didn't know which path to take. "What now?" I ask her confused.

"Lost?" a voice asks and we turn to see Tulip.

"Yes, can you show us to the great hall?" I ask her.

"Sure thing, this way" she says taking the right hall.

"Padma this is Tulip, Tulip this is Padma" I introduce the pair.

"Nice to meet you" Padma says and Tulip nods her head in agreement. We arrived in the great hall and are given a timetable each.

"I see Hermione, I'll see you DADA Padma" I tell her before going to the Gryffindor table. "Hi Hermione, shame we're not in the same house" I say as I sit down.

"Yes it is" she says smiling. "Hey look, we have History of Magic together" she states pointing at our time tables.

"Great, you can take notes while I sleep" I partly joke.

"Why would you sleep?" she asks me confused.

"According to my cousin, History of Magic is the most boring subject in school. It's taught by a ghost who just gives us lectures every lesson. He doesn't really pay attention to us students. So you can goof around and not get detention or sleep all lesson" I explain. "I plan on sleeping" I add.

"Oh, I'll take notes. But you have to do any homework yourself" she tells me.

"Deal" I say and we shake hands. "Guess what Ollivander told me about our wands" I tell her.

"What" she asks curious.

"They both have a dragon heartstring core and the heartstrings come from sister dragons" I explain.

"That's great, I think we're going to be good friends" she states.

"Same" I say smiling. We finish breakfast and go our separate ways. Me to Defense against the dark arts and her to Transfiguration. Once I found my class I sat with Sue and Mandy. The lesson was kind of hard to follow with Professor Quirrell's stuttering. But basically he told us the class rules, took the roll and started to tell us about imps.

We had a fifteen minute break until History of Magic. But I head start there which was wise as I got a little lost. In the end I asked a ghost named Nicholas for help. I find Hermione already inside and sit down beside her. "How was your first lesson?" I ask her.

"It was good, two boys were late. Apparently they got lost" she explains.

"Typical boys then" I tell her. "You had transfiguration right?" I ask her.

"Yes and Professor McGonagall is an animagus" she states.

"Awesome, I want to become one myself. I'll be sure to  ask her after class" I state. "I had DADA, it was ok. But Professor Quirrell stuttered the whole time" I tell her.

"That's strange, but was he a good teacher?" she asks me curious.

"He seemed to know what he was talking about. But looks like he'd faint if he saw a dark creature" I explain. The rest of the class arrives and Professor Binns appears. He began his lecture and I fell asleep after about thirty seconds.

(After HoM)

Hermione woke me up and we went to the library together. Where I copied her notes from history of magic. Tulip soon found us and gave me her timetable. With Hermione's help we made a study schedule. Hopefully she should pass everything this year and be able to graduate.

The four of us then go to Lunch together where I sit with Tulip and the other three. "You have Charms next right Carina?" Badeea asks me. I nod my head as I grabbed a cheese toastie. "I'm helping out in that class. So I can show you the way" she tells me smiling.

"Great, can you show all us first year Ravenclaws?" I ask her hopeful.

"Sure" she says smiling and stands up. "Attention first year Ravenclaws, my name is Badeea and I will be going to Charms with you all. So if you wish to have a guide I'll leave in twenty minutes" she announces. I see other first years nod as she sits down.

"So you want to be a charms professor?" I ask her and she nods her head.

"I myself am training to be a quidditch coach under Madame Hooch" Andrea adds.

"What about you Talbot?" I ask him curious.

"Transfiguration, you'll see me there later" he states. I finished lunch and Badeea gathered the other first year Ravenclaws. Then leads us all to Professor Flitwick's classroom. Pointing out the Transfiguration  classroom and how to get to Potions along the way. As well as answers other questions we had.

"Thank you Badeea" Professor Flitwick says as we entered the class. We all took our assigned seats and I'm in between Terry Boot and Padma. Terry has dark brown hair and hazel coloured eyes. Professor Flitwick had Badeea take the roll and he then explained the rules. Before he started to teach us the unlocking spell.

After class we went to Transfiguration, that quickly became my favourite class. I ended up asking Talbot about becoming an animagus. He agreed to give me private lessons until Christmas. But then I'd be on my own.

We then had Astronomy theory class with Professor Sinistra. She's a tall witch with dark hair, eyes, and skin. Along with a slightly circular face with cheek bones and a prominent, sharp nose. She was very passionate about Astronomy and is really gifted with Charms.

Afterwards we go to the great hall for dinner. Before returning to our common room. Where Talbot gives me a book on how to become an animagus. Telling me to read it by Thursday in time for our first private lesson. Which we made Thursday and Friday afternoons as I have free periods then.
