Amelia's POV-

I stood before the high gate with a skeptical look on my face. I fidgeted with my shirt and cardigan while looking around the property. I was nervous, it was too obvious.

"Relax, Milly. Whatever happens, I won't let anything happen to you," Blake promised and rubbed my shoulders calmingly. I believed him, but that didn't mean that I wasn't scared still. The Alvarez's had always been fierce.

"Yes," Diego said from beside us. "You will be protected at all costs. I'm still not too comfortable with this arrangement, but this was the only way to get them to meet with us. I just wish that you didn't have to come..."

"It's okay... Maybe Javier will be here. Or hell, Even Xavier should remember me. Marcus gave him a nasty little reminder once," I breathed out, making myself chill out a bit.

The gate finally opened for us and we walked up the path to the large house. With every step, a sinking feeling rooted in my chest. Another gang's lair was not something that I was even remotely comfortable with. Not to mention, the Alverez's were much more like the Mendez's; even their house resembled the one that I was kept prisoner in.

"Ah Diego," Xander greeted with malice when we finally made it into the office after being searched and examined.

"Xander," Diego greeted calmly while we all sat down.

"I must say," Xander began as two other men stood guard right inside the door. "I was rather surprised that you wanted to meet."

"I have some valuable information and a deal that I think would suit us all nicely," Diego said easily.

"What makes you think that we'd ever do business with you?" Xander snarled, making Blake tighten his hand that was resting on my knee in a protective manner. "What makes you think that we won't just kill you?"

"Now, now, Xander... Be diplomatic. At least hear us out," Diego tried to calm.

Xander stood up with a scowl and walked around his desk. He was stood right before us, making me lean all the way back in my chair to look up at his face. Blake shifted his hold on me and dragged me as close to him as possible as I sat in the chair still.

"Were you diplomatic when you took my niece?" He bellowed.

Then, all hell broke loose. Xander fisted my hair and snatched me up from the chair like a ragdoll. Blake grabbed my waist and followed me up, standing behind me protectively. Diego stood up as well, but the two men that were in the room as well snatched their guns out and pointed them at both men.

We all stood frozen. Xander held me so tightly by my hair that I had to stand on my tippy toes in order for my hair to not be ripped from my scalp. Still, I refused to whimper or cry at the pain, I knew that was exactly what Xander wanted. He wanted to hurt Diego and Blake through me. That certainly wasn't going to fly with me.

Blake growled at Xander, as he stroked my waist soothingly. He wanted me to not freak out. However, I could feel myself slipping from reality bit by bit as the other man held me so harshly. I knew that Blake would protect me, even if it meant fighting to death for me, but I also knew that the Alverez's were angry as hell. Plus, Xander was reminding me of exactly how Marcus used to be.

"Xander..." Blake started. "Let her go."

"What makes you think that we won't take this girl for ours?" Xander smirked. "Like you did with our Alexis."

Blake's hand paused on my waist. He fisted my shirt in his hand, just for me to feel, before he stood up straight and let go of me completely. I knew with that gesture; he was telling me to take action. He wanted me to let Xander know that I was not going to be taken.
