I love you

A few years ago

"Hey, baby." Tina answered the phone when her 3-month girlfriend called.

"Hi, love. What are you up to?"

"I'm studying a bit, trying to come up with a new recipe. You?"

"I just got home from work and I miss you terribly."

"You should've come to my place."

"I didn't wanna assume anything. Is this an invitation?"

"God, you sure can be silly. Get your butt over here. " Tina chuckled.

Bette didn't need to be told twice. As soon as she could, she changed into more comfortable (but equally beautiful) clothes and headed over to Tina's. On her way there, though, she called Shane to help her try to solve a problem.

Well, it wouldn't be a problem per se. Maybe? It honestly depended on how Tina would take it. The thing is, she had a trip to Australia planned with her friends  on new year's and she would just love it if Tina would come. However, they had only been going out for three months and although they were madly in love with each other, they were still getting  to know one another and none of Bette's friends were that close to Tina yet. She didn't wanna be a bitch to her friends because this was a trip they had planned for a along time and bringing Tina would definitely change some things. For one, she wouldn't wanna leave the bedroom and she knew it. It would turn into a couple's trip.

"Should I invite her?" Bette asked.

Shane sighed. "Look, you know I'm okay with it and I'm sure so is Dana. Your biggest problem would have to be Alice but I wouldn't give her that much attention. If you wanna invite Tina, then you should."

Bette shook her head while driving. "I don't know if Alice would be wrong on this one. I would love to have Tina with us, you know that. But I don't want it to seem like I'm... Abandoning you or whatever."

"Bette. You and I know you are in love with her. If she doesn't go you'll be miserable and nobody wants that. Besides, she seemed pretty chill to me."

Bette smiled as she approached Tina's driveway. "She is. She is just so... accomodating. I'm sure you'll love her."

"Have you told her you love her yet? Because everybody knows you do."

"I haven't. Not yet. Listen, I gotta go. I will definitely follow your advice."

Bette ended the call and went over to knock on Tina's door. Yes, she was gonna ask Tina to go to Australia with them and it would be an amazing trip. God, she got the butterflies just thinking about it.

"Hey, baby." She kissed Bette and noticed she didn't have an overnight bag. Was Bette not staying? Well, that was disappointing to stay the least. "You're not staying over? Or you just didn't wanna assume...?"

Bette noticed Tina's look as she searched for a sign of Bette's bag. "Shit. I left my bag in the car, I'll get it."

She must've forgotten to take it while she beamed with excitement over the thought of going on a trip with Tina and her friends.

As she came back in with her bag in her hand and walked over to nuzzle Tina's hair from behind while she grabbed a few things from the kitchen counter, Tina smiled. "Well, that's a relief. I thought you were gonna leave me all high and dry."

Bette kissed her neck. "That's not my style. I really just forgot to get it."

"Good. You know I love it when you come over, right?" Tina said as Bette started wrapping her hands around her girlfriend's waist and kissing and biting gently on her neck, Tina's weak spot indeed. Bette moaned in agreement. "However, I spent a long time trying to figure out this new recipe and I wouldn't want it to get cold."
