I put a hand to my chest, to make sure it was still beating. Man, I swear, that must've been the creepiest thing I've ever seen in my life.
I pushed myself off the wall I had been leaned against, when.. Zombie Anna.. I guess came creepily stalking towards me. I almost fell down onto my face, but I caught my balance. I was really dizzy at the moment, and held my head in the palm of my hand.
I looked up.. Shoot, Tiana had closed the place right.. God dang security cameras. Or wait! I could- I could see if that was real or not if I went to look at the security cameras!
But the best thing to do was to leave now, so if anyone looked at the security cameras.. Well, they might think I sneaked in here for stealing purposes.
So I quickly rushed out of the cafe, and into the cold air. As always, biting at my skin was that freezing air.. Stupid northern town weather..
I hadn't thought of the consequences. Or the risks. Or possibly the publicity. But I knew what I was going to do now.. I really think it's for my own good, and others'.
I pulled out my phone, and went to the fourth speed dial number.
It rang for a few minutes, but finally picked up. "Yellow?"
"Hey, MK." I said, not realizing that my breathing was heavy and probably sounded like panting through the phone.
"Um.. You okay there Mer? You sound like you've taken a run around the world." MK replied, concern in her tone.
"I actually don't know if I'm okay.." I mumbled, "I think there's something wrong.."
"Oh," She said, "Well shoot the problem at me."
I sighed, "Does your dad do brain scans?" I questioned, and I heard a small gasp.
"Why-" She paused, "Uhm. He can try, he's told me he's done it before..."
"Great. When can I have an appointment as soon as possible? Oh, and I want everything already set up when I get there." I said quickly
"Well um.." She replied, "My dad's actually free right now. It may take an hour to get everything set up.. But we should be ready for you by then. So, does an hour work?"
"An hour is totally fine, thanks MK." I said, and heard a "No problem," Before quickly hanging up.
I wasn't excited about this, nor scared. Just interested. I needed to see if I was really... Mad or not. First things first, catch a cab, get to the hospital, and get a.. Brain scan.
****
I sat on the edge of the CT scanner, the process actually wasn't that bad. A bit scary, being pushed into a big box-like machine, then having a bright light that could possibly blind me flash in my face.
But all in all, it was pretty cool.
I had been sitting there for about 45 minutes, waiting for the results. Did I mention that I was flipping bored out of my mind? Well, I was. What are you supposed to do in a hospital room other than wait to see if your seriously injured, or just fine and there was really no reason to go there.
Finally, Dr.Bomba, also known as MK's dad walked into the room. The classic doctor's clipboard in his hand, holding the results.
He sat down onto one of those spinny chairs, that only the doctors got to sit in. Lucky doctors. And nearly fell, because he leaned back when there was no backside to the chair.
"Well um, Merida." He said, catching his balance on the chair. I quickly sat up, and leaned a bit closer in his direction. "The MRI went very well, we got a very clear image of your brain and.. According to the results of the CAT scan. You're perfectly fine! Healthy, intelligent, no bad cells, no injuries.. Just one of those normal good girl craniums."
