Eleven

Tonight

The Park family has arrived at the venue.

"Okay kids, I want you guys to be on your best behavior- what am I even saying? I'm just glad we have Seulgi to keep you kids on ground." Mr. Park spoke.

"Speaking of Seulgi, you can go ahead. Sarah and I will wait out here for her." Jinyoung said. "Yeah. We'll make sure your favorite child will arrive here safely." Sarah jokingly said.

Mr. Park chuckled, "Don't be silly. Seungmin is already here." He kept on his smile as he walks inside the restaurant.

The two were silent as they watch their dad walk away, figuring out if that was just a joke or not.

After seeing the older figure disappear into the building Jinyoung started to burst out into laughter.

"Did he just- I'm going to the bathroom." Sarah didn't even wait for her brother's response as she walks away to find the restroom.

Seungmin, Hyunjin, and Mr. Kim arrived first so they decided to wait for everyone else inside the restaurant.

"I'll be right back. I need to go to the bathroom." Seungmin excused himself.

Just as the boy's figure turned the corner Mr. Kim faced his son's friend. "You boys were with Seungmin all day right? Does he seem a little off to you?" He asks.

Hyunjin thought out the boy's silence on the way here and shrugs, "Well he was fine when he got to the house with Sarah then after she left he's just been in this slump." He explained.

Mr. Kim furrowed his eyebrows, "Did the two fight again?" Mr. Kim asks Hyunjin questions like they are gossiping about the high school couple.

Hyunjin just shakes his head. "Not that I know of. But I did hear him mention that he saw her leave in a guy's car."

"Oh her brother? I don't get why he would be upset by that." Mr. Kim was confused but Hyunjin knew exactly what Seungmin might of thought of. He snickered, mentally shaking his head at his friend.

Seungmin exited the bathroom, shaking his hands to get the excessive water off his palms. He took a few steps from the bathroom before bumping into Mr. Park.

"Oh good evening Sir." Seungmin politely bowed. Mr. Park smiled, patting his back, "Hello son."

"My father and Hyunjin are inside already. I can lead-"

"It's fine, I can find my way inside. By the way, Sarah's outside waiting for her friend. Why don't you go outside and join her?" Mr. Park patted his back once again before stepping away from the boy.

Mr. Park didn't even wait for his answer which caught Seungmin off guard, "Oh okay." He didn't want to walk back in the room without the girl he thinks he possibly likes by his side so he decides to just do what the man said.

Then what he saw next was not what he expected to see.

The guy who was supposedly Sarah's "boyfriend" or that's just what Seungmin thinks, is kissing a girl who isn't Sarah. He was lowkey freaking out before he heard a faint sound of high heels clicking towards him from behind.

He turned around to meet eyes with the only girl he didn't know he was excited to see. Right then and there everything stood still for him. He suddenly forgets about what he just saw earlier and only focused on the girl in front of him.

"Seungmin." Sarah calls out. Seungmin shook his head as if he was in a trance, "Huh?"

She lets out a light chuckle. "I've been trying to get your attention for 5 minutes. What were you just thinking about?"

'You.'

"Nothing." He answers.

"Okay. Oh come, there's someone I want you to meet." She smiles, grabbing the boy's hand. He was taken aback by the sudden action but then abruptly stops her from pulling them away any farther. "Wait Sarah there's something you should know."

Before Seungmin could explain to Sarah about what he saw, he was cut off by a female's voice behind them.

"Sarah you look so stunning in that dress we picked out." Seulgi exclaimed. "I know right. Seungmin, this is Seulgi. She's my best friend in the world." She introduced the two.

"Oh. You're the best friend? That means you guys will be joining us for dinner." He raised his eyebrows, almost sounding like he was asking a question. 

Not knowing the real story, all Seungmin can think about is how Sarah's "boyfriend" "cheated" on her with her best friend. Emphasis on the mentally seen air quotes. 

Seulgi could feel some sort of tension coming from the guy but she push it aside, letting a small chuckle, "Yeah." She then linked her arms with Sarah. "So, shall we?" She smiles. 

Sarah laughs, guiding them both in the restaurant. Seungmin just stares at the back of the girl, he just saw how happy one person can make her and he wondered if he will ever make her that happy, or even more. 

His thoughts then gets cut off by a clear of an throat of the person next to him. Jinyoung pursed his lips into a smile, "Sup." He says, holding up a fist for his soon-to-be brother-in-law.

Seungmin looks at Jinyoung's fist then back at the guy in total silence. Jinyoung slowly nods, putting down his hand, "Right." He whispers before walking ahead.
