Twelve

"I'm sorry." Seungmin pouts as the girl sitting next to him holds up the ice pack to the back of his head.

"Why are you sorry?" She lightly chuckles. Sarah takes off the ice pack for a moment, checking if incoming bruises or bumps are starting to form before putting the ice pack back on.

He lets out a sigh, "Well I ruined dinner."

"You didn't ruin dinner. It was a total misunderstanding accident." She said to reassure him. He then makes a face. "Come on, don't beat yourself up over this. It's not a big deal."

"Please, it was a total big deal. I don't think I can ever show my face again, that was totally embarrassing." Seungmin lowers his head, not wanting Sarah to see his face of shame. She just laughs at him, still holding the ice pack to his head.

Then her laughter slowly starts to die down. "You thought about all those things, but why did you react in that way?" She asks, furrowing her eyebrows.

Seungmin lifts his head back up, facing the confused girl.

"Umm..."

1 hour earlier

"Kids, please excuse us. Mr. Kim and I will be discussing a few things about business in the back." Mr. Park excused them both, leaving the five younger adults to talk amongst themselves.

"So how long have you guys been together?" Hyunjin asks, pointing towards Jinyoung and Seulgi. Although in Seungmin's point of view it looked like he was pointing at the guy and Sarah.

"6 months." Jinyoung smiles.

"6 months?" Seungmin casually asks. "How were you guys able to keep a long-distance relationship?" Sarah just looks at the boy by his weird question but didn't notice the slight saltiness in his tone.

"Uh she only lives a few blocks away. I wouldn't really call it long-distance." Jinyoung lets out a light chuckle.

Seungmin tilts his head, furrowing his eyebrows. Before he spoke to add something, Hyunjin spoke above him. "I would let go of any other questions." He whispers.

The boy pursed his lips, he couldn't take it anymore. He can't hold on to what he saw outside and the sight right now, Sarah being "oblivious" to Jinyoung and Seulgi flirting.

"Ahh I can't take it anymore." Everyone stopped what they were doing as they heard Seungmin's tiny outburst.

He sighs, "Sarah you should know that I saw your boyfriend and best friend kissing outside when you weren't there." He confessed.

Hyunjin held his hand next to his mouth, trying not to laugh at the second hand embarrassment his friend just gave.

On the other side of the table had three people with confused looks on their faces. "What?" Sarah blurted. "What boyfriend?" She laughs, turning her head to look at Jinyoung then realization hit them both.

"Ewww." They both let out.

Seulgi chuckles, "Seungmin, Jinyoung is Sarah's brother not boyfriend." She informed the boy.

"Huh?" Is all Seungmin said.

"Where'd you get that idea? I thought you knew already that Jinyoung here is my brother." Sarah said.

"Um..."

"You weren't just jealous right?" Hyunjin teases the boy.

Seungmin clears his throat before slowly getting out of his seat, "Um if you excuse-" He was about to turn around though his luck was not with him this entire night.

He accidentally bumped into a waiter who held an opened bottle of red wine which spilled all over his suit and floor.

"Oh Sir, I am so sorry. I'll be right back with a rag." The waiter reassured the boy before leaving with a panic.

This just added to the embarrassment Seungmin already held. All he wanted to do was leave towards bathroom to just hide in a stall.

He was about to take one step when he heard Sarah's booming voice. "WAIT-"

He should've listened.

When you are wearing dress shoes and the marbled floor has been covered with liquid, it's goodbye stability and hello Slip City. As Sarah predicted she winces as she witnessed Seungmin slipping on the puddle of wine, hitting his head on the ground first.

Sarah quickly gets out of her seat and made her way towards the fallen boy. She kneels on the ground, helping the poor boy sit up from the ground.

"What happened here?"

All the kids turned their heads towards Mr. Park's loud, confused voice and Mr. Kim's face occupied by a worried look.

Though what the two older adults saw before them was Hyunjin silently dying trying to hold onto his laughter, Jinyoung and Seulgi's shocked faces, and Sarah helping up Seungmin from the ground who was apparently drenched in red wine.

"Just fiancé things?" Seungmin says although it sounded like a question. Sarah just chuckles, looking at the ice pack she was holding in her hand.

What happened next took her by surprise and maybe even made her heart skip just a little. Seungmin takes both of her hands into his making her face him.

"Thank you." He simply says. "You didn't have to drive me home and ice my head. I could've done all that on my own."

She smiles, "Well I couldn't just let you stay at the restaurant with you covered in wine. Plus, this is just fiancée things." They lightly chuckle after she repeated what Seungmin said.

It went quiet for a moment and in that moment they were both lost in each other's eyes. In a way, they both thought that the feeling they were having is somewhat familiar.

Not giving a warning Seungmin leans in, softly placing his lips onto the girl's. Sarah's eyes responded by closing but her lips were just a second to late. Before she responded to the kiss Seungmin has already release from the kiss.

They were back looking at each other in the eyes then realization just hit Sarah. Why did he kiss her? Why was she about to respond to that kiss? Why is her heart pounding so fast? Sarah didn't want to give in to her desires because she thought she was already giving up on what she was fighting for in the beginning.

She abruptly stood up from the boy's bed, trying to speak words but nothing was coming out of her mouth.

"What's wrong?" Seungmin worriedly asks, following her actions.

Sarah grabs her purse from the foot of the bed and her phone she had put down on his desk when they first entered the room. "I just- I should go." She rushed out of his room, hearing the front door close in a distant.

"What just happened?" The boy said.
