Fall
"She is a failure like all the others, Morris kill"
He stood over Zara aware that this was some new version of his old nightmare he stopped and dropped the knife "I beat you like this" he gestured wildly "as a small human child,"
He laughed Moris looked the dagger somehow back in his hand, blood was dripping from it, as he stabbed it into her chest again.
"you'll never be free of me. Never!" the mocking voice echoed around inside his head
"I beat him, I did" Morris sobbed at the mass grave the bodies armoured each one staring at him accusingly. And he burnt them all with a blast of fire and screaming.
Moris sat up out if his nightmare something smelt wrong there was no other word for it his instincts told him the smell shouldn't exist, Then he heard Ruth Howl,
Mane roared in response, they were both just out side the caves, a shadow past across in front of his lair humanoid but shaped oddly then there
Morris charged horns lowed and struck the foul bests with his horn send foul-smelling things a scattering some kind of blade bit into his head to little effect the light was better here other were coming out of the caves the armoured beast, however, of course, we're staying put because no one had ordered them to get up yet.
but where was Zara, a quick check and she was awake inside the strong stone mansion she seemed alert but not worried
In the light of the half-moon, the creatures only appeared more wrong. a mass of misshapen men with patches of fur over their albino skin.
many had clawed hands or in one instance an arm that ended in a fanged mouth, others were carrying some kind of spear or club
Morris braced his feet wide apart and felt that place within him and pushed 'flame burst' flame shoot out from his mouth consuming the mass of enemy in screams and an even worse smell he had attracted the attention of more and he didn't know how much fire he had as the large mass surge forward towards him screeching horrible and making weird high pitched squeaks. Mane was there among them moving with a speed that seemed a to fast for her size. she let out another roar and a large group of the foul beast stager backwards and closed in whimpering and convulsions followed by stillness.
The Crackle Wings were doing well. he'd never seen them fight before and they were not very skilled. but melee attacks were responded to by a flash and a bang and the smell of lightning. leaving the Crackle Wing injured and the beast dead. a tactic that may not last forever.
But the real hero was Toby. the blade wing tore through the ranks with fury and power nothing could stand before him the blades on his wings claws and his small horns all wielding with experienced precision and his speed put Mane to shame.
Morris let pout a howl he had valid reasons why it made sense and may do some good. But mostly because he felt that his presence on a filled needed to be announced inwardly he realised that it as a total macho ego trip but still.
He flung huis horns targeting the one with spears trying to protect the crackle wings hopefully Mane had got their attention now.
he felt a tug on his bond 'come' and a pulse of fear and the now familiar 'Rider in danger' he was a passed the mass of beasts and along way towards the manor before he began to think.
things seemed to be in hand at the caves Toby and mane had this.
however, he realized she Zara had left the Manor he had to get her. he ran down the hill passed the fending station and across the irrigated lawn towards the back of the manor the which seemed to have caught fire quite recently perhaps.
