(A/N - Just gonna point out that Ella is a sort of shortened nickname thing for Elena, and I haven't put a different name in by accident 😅💕)
Elena's fists were clenched as she marched back to the camp, breaking away from Pan and the boys in annoyance and climbing up a tree, away from the others.
"Elena-"
"Just go away!" was Elena's retort Peter, as Felix placed Henry back on the ground and the Lost Boys set up their drums and started chatting. "You backstabbing, deceptive, annoying - I'd add more adjectives if I could be bothered but - stop laughing, it's not funny!"
"I'm sorry," Pan spluttered, looking up at Elena as she glared at him, sitting on a branch from above. "Elena, love, what's wrong?"
"You seriously don't know?! What is wrong with you?! Where did you take Neal? And why can't we see Emma? I'm betting you've got a good idea where they all are. There's nothing wrong with Henry saving magic, but why do are you keeping us from them? Why do you need me? We've gone through this, I'm no saviour." The words all came out in a rush as she fought back anger and confusion, climbing down and looking over to Henry, who was still sleeping. Pan's expression was unreadable.
"Elena... you know I'm not trying to make everything hard on you or Henry-"
"Do you know Neal?"
Pan nodded after a moment. "Yeah, he was a Lost Boy - Elena, listen-"
"I don't understand one thing that's going on," Elena said, as Peter listened with an understanding expression, "I just want to get back to Emma, and you... why are you keeping me here?"
Pan hesitated, glancing at the boys before pulling her away from the camp, out of earshot and sight from the others.
"Elena, I know you're confused, but you have to trust me. I'm not going to let you or Henry get hurt."
"No, obviously not. I just want Emma - I want to see her again. I hate it here - your Lost Boys are so annoyingly sexist and I-"
Pan cut Elena off by pushing her gently against a tree, his green eyes wandering over her face, fingers threading through light, chocolate brown locks. She instantly stopped talking, eyes widening a fraction as she stared at him, puzzled and slightly entranced. Her cheeks flushed as she frowned lightly.
"W-what are you doing?"
"Calming you down," Peter Pan murmured with a smirk, his fingers brushing her cheek as his smirk grew, noticing her expression. "Just calm down, Elena, there's nothing to be afraid of. I just... I need Henry to help save magic, and being out in Neverland with no protection is dangerous. Neal can't protect you out there, Rumple can't be trusted-"
"Neither can you," Elena told him with a hint of a smile. "I'm sorry, I'm sorry - I just miss them all - and Greg and Demara used kind of unsettling methods to drag Henry here. I sort of understand though... I'll try to - I know it must be a big deal that Neverland's powers are dying."
Pan chuckled and nodded. "You could say that."
"I'm sorry," Elena whispered, "I just want to go home."
Peter nodded and smiled. "You will go home, Elena, I promise. But right now, the best place for you to be is here."
"It's Henry you need here," Elena said, "he's the one that's gonna save magic, isn't he? Not me. I don't need to be here."
"You do," Peter answered softly, looking up to meet her gaze, "you're the only one here that Henry's properly familiar with."
Elena smiled slightly, shaking her head. "Is that the only reason?"
