(A/N - I kinda morphed two chapters into one cus I'm so pumped to be making the second boooook 😅 it's following the second part of Season 3, and there's gonna be so much fluff and romance with Elena and Pan 💕 so look out for it! I'll put a bonus chapter of it on soon at the end of this book and give a link to when I've got it up. It's gonna be called Saviour btw 😊)

Elena scanned Storybrooke in search of Pan, who she assumed was either still with Rumple in his shop - which seemed unlikely - or with Emma and the others somewhere in town. However, she didn't have to look long, because she stopped her running abruptly when she noticed Granny, Belle, Neal, Regina, Emma, Henry, Hook, David and Mary Margeret standing in a frozen position in the middle of a road. Peter Pan himself was standing amongst them, curse in hand, his attention fixed on Rumple, who was speaking angrily to him before turning to Neal and Belle.

"...a price I'm finally willing to pay," she heard Gold state, nodding at Neal. "I used the curse to find you, Bae. To tell you I made a mistake, to make sure you had a chance at happiness. And that happiness is possible... just not with me. I accept that. I love you, Bae."

Pan scoffed, watching the scene in mild amusement.

"And I love you, Belle. You made me stronger."

"Stronger?" Peter repeated in disbelief.

"Yes."

"But still, no magic."

"Oh, but I don't need it," Rumple responded dismissively. "You see, you may have lost your shadow, but there's one thing you're forgetting."

"And what's that?"

"So have I," Rumple said with a smirk, "I sent it away with something to hide."

Elena's eyes widened in realisation, and before Rumple could stretch out his hand to call him shadow over, she interrupted.

"Stop!"

Rumple paused and rolled his eyes, glaring at the girl approaching them. "Elena, you've had your time-"

"No," she argued defiantly, as Blue and Grumpy followed behind and watched from a safe distance. "I've got something I have to do first."

Rumple sighed and crossed his arms sceptically, Pan giving her a serious look. "Ella, don't try to change my mind-"

"I'm not going to try to change your mind. I'm going to."

"And what makes you think that?"

"Because I understand," she answered, "I understand how you want to keep on living, and you want a place where you can be in control, so you can get the happy ending you want. But if you go ahead with this, I promise you, you will not be happy. Regina knows. Villains don't get happy endings, Peter, and if you do this, you'll truly be a villain. And I realise that you and Rumple aren't on great terms because you traded Neverland and live with unlimited youth and freedom for responsibility. And that hurt. But will you ever find it in you two to move on? Because obsessing over revenge just hurts those you love."

Rumple glanced at Belle after hearing the last sentence, his confidence wavering, Pan listening silently.

"You must feel bad for it inside," Elena reasoned, "I know just how hard you worked on finding your son again, Rumple. You can't say you hate each other to the point of murder, because you're still family, and no amount of hate's going to change that. You only get one family. Mine died before I had a chance to get to know them, and I miss them every day. It's too late for me now, but it isn't for you. Won't you try to make amends? Put the past behind you? If you won't do it for each other, do it for the people you love!"
