the new kid

six- the walk

kaitlyn had been following richie and stan for what felt like years and neither of them had said a thing, she was was already about to give up and go home.

that was until richie spoke up..

"if this is about the kiss, i'm sorry"

stanley inhaled sharply
"sorry for what"

"uh, making you kiss me?"

stanley shook his head, richie looked confused but stayed silent, waiting for stan to speak up

"that's not what i wanted to talk to you about"

"then what is it? you can tell me anything stan"

richie looked down at stan's hands and held them in his.

stanley sighed
"rich i- i don't know how to say this, there's no easy way,"

just do it stan

"that kiss meant something to me richie and i-"

richie let go of stanley's hands
"this again"

stanley's heart dropped
"w-what"

"stan, listen. we've been best friends for like forever and i like it better that way. it was stupid of me, i know, but that kiss meant nothing. i'm sorry stanley but i'm taken a-and this is the happiest i've been in the longest time. there's no feelings, stan. can we please move on from this? i cant loose you as a friend"

stanley half smiled.

he know things have been pretty tough for richie and he was so happy that a new kid has changed his life completely.

he wanted to say everything he had made a mental note of whilst talking with mike, but richie already answered all his questions.

he didn't like him and that was that, now stan can move on.. right?

kaitlyn had been listening into the whole conversation and was more or less satisfied with richie's answer.

he loves eddie, nothing could change that. she turned around and walked back home to tell eddie he had nothing to worry about.

she had a little skip in her step whilst walking home, she was so happy that her brother had found somebody so amazing that he could hold onto forever.

kaitlyn turned down her street when she realised she must have taken a wrong turning,

she ended up outside some old abandoned house,

it sent chills down her spine.. she slowly walked past the house, keeping her eyes on it at all times.

"jeez! look where you're walking!"

kaitlyn snapped back into reality as she realised she had bumped into a girl.

the girl looked so familiar? she had short ginger hair and the most beau- the most blue eyes ever..

she had a few freckles dotted over her nose however they were a little more enhanced due to the sun.

she was a little shorter than kaitlyn but looked around her age.

kaitlyn shook her head trying to erase her thoughts.

"i am so sorry! i- the house- i didn't mean-"

"relax, it's fine. you're.. eddie's sister, right?"

kaitlyn raised an eyebrow
"how do you know my brother?"

"he's one of my best friends!"

the shorter girl smiled, she really was so beautiful. her smile gave kaitlyn butterflies, oh no.

"ohh, well i'm ka-"

"kaitlyn" the girl finished "i know"

kaitlyn nodded, she felt her cheeks heat up..

the girl chuckled and held her hand out
"i'm beverly"

kaitlyn shook her hand and felt something in the pit of her stomach

you aren't.. falling for this girl? are you?
