Today is running so long. All my case files are piling high. Drives me crazy. While I was making calls my son comes into my office.
Jennifer must be at science practice. Nathan takes a bottle of Gatorade from my mini fridge. He flashes a smile at me. I hang up the reciever.
"No football practice today?" I asked him.
"Nope. Felt like coming by to visit you." replied Nathan.
"I'm glad you did. Although, I can't help but think you want something."
"Mom, if I wanted something. I wouldn't hesitate to ask."
I roll my eye get up from behind my desk. I place a kiss on Nathan's forehead.
"Thank you for coming over. Love you." I said smiling at him.
He leans back the couch playing with his video game. I take it from him frowning.
"Excuse me mister! I know you have homework to do!" I exclaimed frowning at him.
Nathan groans out loud pulling out his textbooks. I pat him on his shoulder before walking away. I swear he thinks he's so slick.
~Jennifer~
After school, Jennifer along with her other team mates head to the science room. Mark had everything set up for them.
Each of them take their seats reading the board. The started working on the equation on the board. Jennifer was just about to be done.
"I haven't done much research on this team. Have you won many awards?" asked Mark.
"Look behind you." said Sanjay.
Mark turns around to see the three championship trophies. He raised an eyebrow nodding his head.
"Impressive. I hit the jackpot with you guys."
They shared a laugh with him. Practice continued until five. During that time while Jennifer explained on how to solve an equation.
She felt Mark's eyes glued to her every move. Her cheeks turned red while she spoke. Mark loved the way her blue eyes twinkled.
He could just listen to her talk all day. Once the practice was over everyone exit the room. Jennifer stops by her locker to gather a few things.
She is then startled by Mark standing next to her. A smile grew on his lips. Her heart is racing like crazy.
"I'm sorry. I have really got to work on my approaches." apologized Mark.
"It's okay." assured Jennifer smiling.
"I just wanted to say you did a great job today. This is the first I've taught a group of students. Who actually like to learn."
"My mom was like that when she was young. My brother not so much."
"I think I've met him. Nathaniel Downey."
"Yeah. He's my twin brother."
"I noticed that. Blue eyes. My favorite color."
Jennifer blushed at him. Exchanging shy glances at Mark. He had such dreamy eyes as they burned into hers.
"I better get home. See you tomorrow." said Jennifer.
She walked down the hallway and out the front door. She continued walking down the sidewalk. Her house was only a few blocks away from the school.
A red Camaro mustang charges stopped in front of her. The tented window rolled down slowly. Mark looked up at her disappointed.
"Jennifer, I had no idea you were walking home. Get in." he said.
