Ember woke up from the screams coming from her home, downstairs, echoing through ethe halls of her house. Terrified, she sits up and jumps out of her messy bed, running through her dark room, trying to find a way towards her light switch,

turning her light on in panic she opens the door next to her, before she could reach the doorknob with her tiny hands, she sees it already being opened. Suprised, Ember steps back with her small feet, her pajama pants almost making her trip backward onto her soft, pink carpet.

She closes her eyes in fear as she tries protecting herself by covering her eyes, she felt like she was in a nightmare, the ones she had regularly.

as she crushes her eyes as close as possible she feels a soft touch onto her arms, and immediately knew who was standing right in front of her, with just a touch, she knew; it was her older brother, Gally.

She opens her eyes and Gally slowly takes her hands away from her eyes, as she sees her brother giving her comfort from all the horror going on, the screams, the gunshots downstairs, they were so scared but even though they were, her brother made it just a little less scary.

"It's going to be okay, Ember." Whispering into her ear, as he hugs her tightly. "What's going on Gally?" Ember backs up from the hug, even though she wants to keep holding him tight. "Why are mommy and daddy screaming?" She whispered before they got interrupted by a man entering the room.

Suddenly Gally stood up and turned around, wrapping his arms around his little sister behind him, protecting her no matter what the cost might be. Ember embraced the hug and hid behind him while she tried to stay strong, just for him. Her small head rested onto his back, while her soft, dark brown hair rested onto her shoulders, her arms around his belly as she tried not letting him go.

"You're coming with us kid, you're safe now." The man held a gun in his hands, but tried not to look intimidating. He had a black helmet on that covered his whole face, the clothing he was wearing was black blue-ish, with on the sides of his upper arms were the words W.I.C.K.E.D. written. They were noticeable like a logo, like they were some sort of company.

"Who is us?" Gally suspiciously asked, almost stuttering his words. the big man standing infront of him, terrified, Gally tried keeping on a strong face "Let's go." As the man lost his patience he lowered his gun even more, as he walked towards the two kids.

As he walked closer you could see some blood drips, coming from his dark clothing, which made Gally step further and further away from the man.

Ember's brother, Gally stepped back holding his sister even tighter than before. He turned his head around almost looking at his terrified sister behind him, and he softly whispered "I will be with you, through all of what is going to happen." He looked back to the man as he told his sister "I promise." The last words her brother ever said to her before they got taken.

Ember. .

Ember?

Are you crying?

She zoned out as soon as she heard the word crying, as she felt the last drop fall onto the table, just next to her plate full of food that she was supposed to eat. As she wiped away her tears she looked at her friend, right next to her "You weren't thinking about your brother again, were you?"

The girl said with concern. "Why were you even being taken in the first place, without your brother with you?" She then asked Ember another question, almost overwhelming her with more sadness and irritation.
