"I just couldn't tell them yet, why would you care anyway?" Ember snapped at Gally, he backed a little with his head, dropping his eyes to the cold ground.

"George's the first stung one, I didn't know what they'll do." Gally sighed, looking at George.

His eyes were rolling back and forth as his teeth began to show, blood was covering his yellow teeth as the boys did their best to drag him out.

"I hope he'll be okay, i'm going to bed." Ember stood up, sand covering her hand a little as she dusted it off.

She wiped away the wet blood that was left, and walked away with pain left on the back of her head.

In the shed.

Ember threw off her dirty shirt, it wasn't hard to pull it off with the big holes the shirt had, it was about a size too big anyway. She sat on her bed she had made before.

She turned herself around to open up the sleeping bag, it smelled like dust, but she crawled in. It was still a little cold, the shed wasn't isolated very well— but enough.

She turned herself around to the dusty, wooden wall next to her bed, and tried closing her eyes. Her eyes were shut as she began to slowly fade away after the rough day she had been through.

Two soft knocks opened the door but Ember had already fallen asleep, and the noise began to slowly fade out.

"Hey, i'm sorry I wasn't being able to help you earlier." A cracky voice said, to suprise, it sounded tired.

"I was just scared, like you were." He said, stepping closer to the sleeping bag "I know what it feels like to be scared, hopeless."

He kneeled down before sitting himself down onto the sleeping bag Ember was in. He bended over but quickly realised her eyes were shut, and she had already landed in dream land.

"Well, it's better if you didn't heard me." He sighed, bending back as he locked his hands together "I would look like a coward if you did."

He chuckled before looking down at the ground. He stood up and walked to his sleepingbag, but.. it wasn't there?

His heart slightly stopped before he turned himself around, he had realised Ember took it.

"I was cold." A mumbling voice said, identifying it as Ember.

His face slightly lit up, and he walked out of the door without making another single sound.

The next day.

Ember's eyes slowly opened as she saw bright light shining through the cracks of the wall, not many, but even birds were singing their happy songs this morning.

Ember had slept pretty okay for her first night, except for the four times she woke up to the sounds of grievers in the maze, who just couldn't let her continue her dream.

Before she turned herself around the door was being kicked open, and even more sunlight came through.

"Gooodmorning sunshine." Newt grinned, holding a stick in his one hand.

"Today we're going to get you a job Greenie, you in?"

Ember grunted as she turned herself around, "Get a life," Ember snapped. "Or should I say a good le-"

"Don't go to far Greenie, or I'll kick you into the maze myself!" Newt snapped with a joking voice.

With a grin Ember sat up, as her hair was all over the place. With her hands she tried brushing it through a few times, and it was in model again.

"What do you have in mind blondie?" Ember asked, sitting up, her bed, still warm.

Her eyes were glinstering while the sunlight reflected, she stood up. "Well, since you do like to cook with Frypan, maybe being a cook couldn't hurt." Newt offered.

"Fine, now get out weirdo I need to change." Ember took all of her strength and turned Newt around and made him leave the room, while the door was still open.

Ember could feel the small splinters under her feet while she pushed Newt out of the door, and it made her almost fall. "But-" Newt said before she slammed the door closed.

"No buts! I need to change." Ember turned herself around leaning onto the door as a small grin appeared.

She walked back to her mattras were next to it her clothes were from yesterday. Without much of a choice, she puts it on.

With avoiding the revealing window she finally had all of her dirty clothing on, the wound that was slowly healing from yesterday.

Ember placed her hand on her shoulder as she felt it burn, and with a big grunt it the pain slowly faded as she rubbed it. She walked to the door and opened it with creaking.

She saw no one laying in there unmade beds, so she assumed everyone had already been to work, so she needed too.

When she entered outside she felt the grass on her feet, even though she wore shoes. The wind was slowly breezing through her unbrushed hair, and her eyes were still hurting from the burning sun.

"Hey Ember, have you decided which job you are going to take?" A boy walked towards Ember with an tender smile, it was Gally.

"Cook, maybe." Ember looked down at the grass as she answered his question, she was exited but at the same time, she isn't very good at keeping things together.

"Well, hopefully Frypan accepts you." Gally giggles "How's your wound doing?"

"Fine, it's healing so don't worry." Ember rubbed on her shoulder again as she felt it's stings, trying to ignore it. "I can barely feel any pain with it."

Gally frowned his eyebrows, he blocked the sun out with his hand, bended over and tried taking a look. Before he could, Ember slapped his hand that was trying to reach it.

"I said it's healing, don't touch it moron." Ember snapped as she started looking towards Frypan's shed.
