*A few time skips and cliff hanger*

“Mary! Mary! Get up!” Draco yelled, shaking me awake.
“What? What’s happening?” I asked groggily, rubbing my eyes.
“Come on! Today’s the last triwizard event!” He said excitedly
“The event doesn't start until noon! Besides! It’s a saturday. I would like to sleep in!” I snapped, pulling the covers back over my head.
“Mary Jane Stockings! You are to get up and start your day! Now!” He yelled.
“Fine.” I snapped, sitting up.
He harrumphed and turned on his heel, exiting my room. I dressed in some jeans and a sweatshirt, and left my room. I went down to the great hall, where I found draco. I skipped over towards him, and sat down.
“So, what is so important about today that you had to wake me up at seven, on a Saturday?” I asked.
“Today’s the last triwizards tournament! The last one! I want to see Potter lose, see him be ashamed. Eternal glory, could you imagine?” He said, his perfect smile wide.
“No, only in our dreams. Besides, you never know what could happen. After this, everything in Hogwarts could change.” I said looking back at him
“Anyways, eat. I want you to have enough energy for later!”
“Draco, it’s after lunch. I already told you this. You need to calm down.”
“I know… But i really want Krum to win!” His eyes sparkled.
“With that wonky walk? Please, he may be a quidditch star, but that doesn’t mean anything!” I looked at him, shaking my head. “I, for one, think Delecour should win.”
“No, no. Krum!”
“Alright, alright. Don’t get your wand in a knot.” I said, putting my hands up in surrender.

Lunch had finally arrived, and believe me when i tell you, i had never seen draco more excited in my entire life. We sat outside, under a group of trees we had found. Mart sat on the cold earth, fiddling with Amethysts hair. Amethyst, laying on her girlfriends lap, and of course, reading the book she had started yesterday. Which was, by the way, over halfway done. Draco sat, his back against the tree, eating his apple. I just sat, staring out at the lake.
“Who do you think is going to win?” Mart asked, looking down into Amethyst’s eyes.
Amethyst gently shut her book, and looked back into Marts eyes.
“I don’t know. I honestly think Fluer.”
“I told you!” I yelled, pointing at draco.
“No, no, no! Krum is going to win! I mean, look at him!” He said.
Mart cocked her eyebrow at him.
“I think Cedric is going to win.” She said, curiosity in her voice.
“Diggory?!” Dray and I said together.
“Yes, diggory. But, i do respect your guy’s opinions.”
“Let’s bet on it!” Draco's voice rang out.
“What?!” I yelled.
“Alright. 20 sickles. You bet on krum i bet on fluer.” Amethyst said, her eyes closed.
Mart shook her head in disapproval as she continued to braid my sister's short hair.
“Deal.” Draco nodded, and continued on his apple.
“That did not just happen.” I said, looking at the two of them.
“Well, you know how your sister is.” Mart smiled.
“What’s that supposed to mean?!” Amethyst yelled.
“Oh nothing, dear.” She smiled.
Amethyst scoffed, and went back to reading her book. This left us in silence, all of us lost in our own thoughts.
“Is it just me, or does anyone else have a hunch that something bad is going to happen?” I asked, looking down at my feet.
“No, I feel it as well…” Amethyst said,
“But, we have to be optimistic. We can’t burden ourselves with the bad things in life…” Mart spoke in a gentle, yet sad voice. “Bad things happen everyday, and we can’t let them get to us.”
Amethyst looked up into her sad eyes, and gave her a gentle smile. She placed a hand on Mart’s cheek and her a silent ‘It’s going to be okay’. Amethyst obviously knew something I didn't. Maybe I could ask her about it later.
A horn trumpeted in the distance, and we all looked at each other excitedly. The four of us all got to our feet, and ran towards the quidditch pitch, the setting sun casting a pinkish glow on the fields.

The sun had fully rested behind the castle, and the only light we had were the torches that surrounded the pitch. Students from all directions screamed and cheered in excitement, while the band played in the background, though, it was hushed by the students. Draco sat on one side of me, while Mart and Amethyst sat on my other side. I was quite confused at what I was looking at, actually. A large shrub, which was at least 20 feet tall, stood at the bottom of it. Inside it, I could hear the screams and calls of creatures beyond my imagination.
“What is it?” I yelled over the screaming children surrounding me.
“I think it’s a maze. See the breaks betweens the bushes?” Draco yelled back, “There’s turns and twists if you look closely enough.”
I strained my eyes to see the top of the overgrown bushes, and sure enough, Draco was right. It had to have been a maze.
“Sonorus.” I heard Dumbledore's voice echo in my ears.
He had been using the amplification charm a lot lately. I could understand why he would use it now. Just as his voice surrounded the stadium, all students, teachers, and family member’s, along with the band, hushed. They waited for the headmaster to speak, growing more impatient by the second. Even draco sat on the edge of his seat, jittering his leg restlessly. Dumbledore looked around, his eyes twinkling in the torch light.
“Hello students, family and triwizard champions. Today is the final Triwizard event, so champions beware. After this, a grand prize of 1,000 galleons and eternal glory!”
Throughout the entire stadium, students cheered, and called out the champions names. I looked down at the field, only to see the champions standing there, bold and proud. All except for harry. He looked rather nervous, and fiddled with his fingers as Dumbledore talked.
“Now, in this maze, are untamed creatures, all with the purpose of slowing you down. You task; Collect the triwizard cup. If you are in any danger, send up red sparks with your wand, a professor or head master will collect you, and you will forfeit the task.” Dumbledore called out looking at the champions.
He removed his wand from his neck, and huddled the champions together, mumbling words of encouragement to them. And with the clap of his hands, the four champions were off, starting their descent. The band and the cried together, excitement swimming through the atmosphere.

As the minutes drew by, the anticipation and anxiety hushed the crowd. 10 minutes. We sat waiting for something, anything to happen. We listened intently, the rawrs and screams of creatures startling us every time. When I saw a bush caught ablaze, I jumped, grabbing Draco's hand. Hagrid’s blast ended skrewts were the first thing that came to mind. I looked at draco, blushed, and took my hand off of his.

30 minutes. A gasp escaped my lips as red sparks broke out of the sky. A worried whisper fluttered between the professors, and McGonagle rushed off, along with Madam Maxine and dumbledore. We waited for them to come back, but they didn’t for almost five minutes. They came back, only for us to see madam Maxine caradleing an extremely injured Fluer. I gasped, and began to shake. Next to me, amethyst gasped, and I heard Mart wimpier slightly. I didn’t like where this was going.
“I guess i won that bet…” Draco said, trying to find something comedic in the situation.
I smacked his arm slightly, and he winced. We went back to the scene, only to see Madam Pomfrey tending to the young witch. We watched in discomfort, only for a moment. That is, until we heard someone scream. Everyone gasped, and looked back at the maze. It sounded like Cedric.
“What’s happening?” Mart whimpered, clinging onto my sister.
Amethyst rubbed her shoulder, but she too looked extremely terrified. More red sparks went up, only this time, they were deeper in the maze. Karkaroff and Dumbledore, along with Hagrid, ran into the maze, only to come back ten minutes later, Hagrid carrying Viktor over his shoulder. Draco gasped, and I could feel his hand interlock with mine. I squeezed his hand, motioning that it was going to be okay.
“He’s been cursed.” McGonagle gasped.
“What are yeh talkin’ about?” Hagrid said.
“He’s under some hex. Like he’s under control.” Madam Pomfrey said.
“This is all yer fault!” Hagrid said, pointing a finger at Karkaroff.
“Vat are you talking about?!” Karkaroff snapped.
“Enough ‘agrid! This is no one's fault! We just ‘ope the others will be okay…” Madam Maxine’s voice drifted off.

Another 20 minutes passed by. Fluer sat on a bench, watching the entry of the maze. her sister sat next to her, rubbing her back in a calming way. We stared at the unmoving maze entrance. Where were they? Just as the worry began to reach the top, and overflow, a loud pop filled the stadium. They were back. Cedric was with Harry. Students all around us cheered and hugged their friends. The band played excitedly. Amethyst hugged a crying mart. But these weren’t happy tears. These were different. Was something wrong? But just as I turned around, A loud, pain filled scream filled the stadium.
