Fredca was strolling through the forest. It had been a few weeks since she became a warrior and it felt great. She felt older and stronger and she was allowed to leave the camp by herself. Though Fredca always enjoyed walking in the forest with her friends and parents, she sometimes likes to walk by herself. Her uncles would joke saying she got the enjoyment of the forest from her father, but she didn't mind. The forest was beautiful and peaceful. It was the best place to be born into. Fredca continued to walk until she heard a rustling in the bushes.
"Who's there," she said. "Whoever you are, come out. I know your there."
The bushes rustled again to reveal a dappled golden tabby she-cat with amber eyes.
"Please don't hurt me," the she-cat said. "I don't want any trouble." Fredca didn't detect any clan scent but instead rouge. Though this rouge seemed to be harmless.
"Who are you," Fredca asked. "What are you doing in Thunderclan territory?"
"My name is Mothwing," the she-cat said.
"Mothwing," Fredca echoed with confusion. "That's an unsual name for a rouge. Why do you have a warriors' name?"
"Because I would like to join the clans," Mothwing said.
Fredca was confused. Rouges were usually not interested in joining the clans.
"Why would you want to join the clans?," she asked.
"My mother told me stories about the clans and how my father was a clan cat," Mothwing explained. "He told her about the clan life, the warrior code, and the clans' ancestors Starclan. She promised she would take me and my brother to join them, but she didn't after we heard rumors of strange things happening in the forest." Fredca wondered if Mothwing was referring to her family and their war against Shadow Freddy. Mothwing went on.
"After out mother died, me and my brother promised ourselves we would join the clans. We even gave ourselves our own warrior names. My brother is Hawkfrost. But my brother became obsessed over ruling the clans after our mother told us what our father had done to them."
"Is your brother a brown tabby with blue eyes," Fredca asked.
"Yes," Mothwing replied. "But I told him not to do it, but he wouldn't listen. When I found out he attacked some clan cats, I was so mad that I left.
"Who was your father," Fredca asked.
"I don't know if I should say," Mothwing said. "My mother told he wasn't loved by the clans."
"Don't worry, you can tell me, I trust you," Fredca reassured. Mothwing took a deep breath.
"Have you hear of a cat named Tigerstar?"
"Yes, I never met him. He died before I was born. He's your father?" Mothwing nodded. Tigerstar was a Shadowclan leader who tried to rule all the clans but was killed by Scourge and again by Firestar.
"Yes. But I'm nothing like him," Mothwing said. "I just want to live with clans peacefully. You understand right?"
"I do," Fredca said. "I can see it in you. I come from family who wanted to find a new home any the clans welcomed. I'm sure they can welcome you as well.
"How would like for me to take you to the Thunderclan camp and talk to the leader, Firestar?"
"I would like that," Mothwing said. Fredca turned with Mothwing following.
