*_next day. Tuesday 7.30am_*

I walked into my office and put down my bags and took my white coat from the coat hanger.
I pulled my chair and sat down, pushing my short highlighted baby blue hair behind my ears.
I opened the drawer below my desk and did a few reports.
I heard a knock on my door and saw Edith coming in.

" Morning Edith", I placed the papers in a blue folder.
"Hey Dr. Zaire. How'd you sleep?"
"I barely had enough sleep", I rubbed my face with my palms, the pushed my hair back but it fell right back over my forehead.

" How's... ", I flipped open a file and saw the name of the patient from last night. ".... How's Keith?"
"I was just about to give you an update. He's doing fine. And he has a visitor waiting to see him. We just need your authorisation if she could see him."
"Oh of course." I got up from my chair and went to the Patient's room. By the door, there was a woman with black red streaked hair pulled back into a pony tail. She wore an entirely black outfit. Vest, leather jacket, bootleg jeans with black ankle boots that made a _clink_ sound whenever she took a step. She had her arms crossed and leaned against the wall.

I looked at her. I think she got the hint to stand properly.  "Hi I'm Dr. Zaire." I reaches out to shake her hand. She introduced herself as Foxx, Keith's friend. I'm guessing that was her last name.
I let her in and she stood by Keith as he lay asleep on the bed.

I checked his pulse and heart rate. Everything looked good. I took a look at the wounds and they seem to be responding to the treatment.
As I examined him, he slowly opened his eyes. Then he was fully awake and sat up straight.

"Keith?", the woman whispered.
" Mr Ba..." I was cut off when he said, " Keith. Call me Keith." His voice was deep and soft.
I cleared my throat. "Keith. How do you feel?"
      "Tired."
I arched my lips into a smile. "Okay that's normal. Probably your body still reacting to the medication. Uhmm_anyway...your surgery was a success, however due the major wounds you have, you might wanna take it easy. Don't move too much, at least until they're fully healed. Lot's of rest."
"Got it. Thanks", he smiled at me.

I went to the other half of the room to fill out some forms and to give them some time to talk. Inattentively, I caught a few words of they're conversation. They tried to whisper but the room echo's like crazy. I winced at the thought.

"Hey you." Keith's voice was tired.

"Don't 'Hey you' me. You could've gotten killed."

"By you."

"I didn't mean to. But you were being an ass."

"My way was better though. Now thanks to you, I have to spend another night in here."

The woman commented with attitude in her voice. "You don't have to be such a big baby about it."

"Oh yeah? Well let me shoot you in the chest And twice on the leg"

"I only shot in the leg dumbass."

"Only the leg?"

"Well duh, I wouldn't purposely try to kill you." She sat on the bed next to him. "What are you thinking?"

"You didn't shoot me, someone did."

"But who could that be. The only people that were there was us and Argo. He didn't have a weapon."

"Well then it's obviously someone else."

"Maybe you were shot by accident."

He chuckled. "Amber. People don't shoot me by 'accident' ."

"Then who did?"

"That's the question."

"I'll tell the others", she got up and pulled her jeans upper. " While you lie here looking all...sad...we'll find the shooter."

She wriggled her fingers at him as she left. "Thank you doctor", the door automatically closed behind her. Keith lied down chuckling. "Women", he mumbled to himself.

_Did she really shoot him_ , I thought to myself as I finished the last of the paper filings.

" How long am I gonna be here doc", he lightly asked.
"Not long", I said. "We'd like to keep you in here for just another day." I held on tightly to the clipboard in my hands.

It was only then I started to notice his features....without any blood on his caramel skin.
