"A tra...", Before Ace could continue, the other guys appeared and started firing at them. They managed to hide behind the containers and machines and they also fired back.  " IT'S AN AMBUSH!" Blaire yelled as she fired an ongoing gun.

My heart pounded as I screamed. Then one of the other guys dragged me by the chair to a room at the back and locked me up there. Seconds...Minutes passed, all I heard were gunshots being fired back and forth. I heard yelling, but this time I couldn't tell exactly who was yelling. The gun fire continued and I couldn't do anything to help.  The room had nothing in it. Not even a window, just me. The door was made of steel, it seemed to have tightly enclosed the air in here. That meant I'd run out of oxygen soon. My head was aching and not to mention my hunger. I had no way of telling time but I guess it was already past noon.

I don't how long I've been in that room, but I became really tired. Almost as if I was dying. I struggled to breath as I ran out of oxygen. I drowsily looked around and saw blood on the floor. My blood. So not only was I running out of air, but I had lost a lot of blood. Which wasn't helping me in any way.
I noticed that there weren't any more gun firing sounds. The door to the room I was in suddenly opened. I looked up and saw Keith. I sighed. He dropped his gun and quickly walked up to me and untied my arms and legs.

"Aqua", he called out to me. I was losing consciousness and his voice sounded like a blurred image. As if I was underwater, and he was calling my name from the surface.

I slowly opened my eyes as I lay still on a hospital bed. " She's waking up ", I heard Edith's voice. My vision became more clear. On my left stood Keith and Edith. I looked on the left at the guest seats and saw Damon and Amber fast asleep.  " What happened",  I asked with a weak voice.

"Well look who's finally up", said Keith.

" Oh dear", Edith happily said. "You've been here for two days. Knocked out cold I'd say. I'll go write you up."

I smiled as Edith went out.

"Was I really here for two days?"

Keith nodded. I saw it in his eyes that he was tired too. My right arm had two needles in it.

"Should I wake them up", he asked.

I looked at Damon and Amber on the seats. " Nahh, those two barely sleep."

He chuckled.

"I thought you guys didn't want to let me go 'cause I'll go runnin' to the authorities."

"Yea", he agreed.

"Well then why am I here. Why not just let me die and save yourself the struggle of keeping me quiet?"

He cleared his throat and leaned his arms against the bed rail. "You saved my life once right", he smiled. "Now we're even."

I chuckled and decided to tease him a bit. "Was it really just to settle a score or was it just because..."

Before I could continue, Keith's lips had interlocked with mine. I felt his tender lips crash into mine. I closed my eyes, held his neck and kissed him back.

"Well, I'll admit...I did not see this coming", I heard Amber say.

We both chuckled as he pulled back.
They both stood up and walked towards me. For first time in ever, I saw Damon chuckle. " I did."  He folded his arms and smiled.

"Well whadaya know", Amber teased Damon. " The guy has teeth."
We all chuckled.
Damon's phone rang. "It's Ace."
He went further back as he answered the phone.

"Where's Blaire", I asked. Keith and Amber looked at each other. I stared at them confusedly.

"And that's how I met your father", I said as I tucked my 6 year-old  daughter, Camille, into bed.

My 13 year-old son, Sky, popped his head out at the top of the bunk bed. I looked up at him. "So mom you do realise that you almost died because of dad?"

I folded my arms. "Yes. I almost did didn't I."

"Was it worth it", he asked.

Camille grinned at me. I smiled as I brushed back her hair, "Absolutely."
She giggled.

I got up from the cushioned seat and kissed Camille's forehead. Sky went back into his duvets.

"Goodnight little peanuts."

"Night mom", said Sky.
