Chapter 7: YangYang

When YangYang thought of his ideal type and who he would like to date, his heart always went back to Germany, and his friends he made there. He decided to go on a vacation to Düsseldorf in search for his ideal lover. Once arriving in Düsseldorf, YangYang goes to his parents' house. They are more than happy to welcome YangYang back home. He is finally back after years of not being able to visit. After a few hours of catching up with his parents, YangYang goes out on town to search for someone to love. He goes all over the city, not really looking, but waiting for someone to come to him.

Then. . . He saw her. A beautiful, tall, hazel-eyed, blonde girl. He knew he wanted to introduce himself, so he approached her.
"Um, hallo. Ich heiße YangYang Liu. Wie geht's du?" YangYang asked(Uh, hi. My name's YangYang Liu. How are you?)
"Oh, hallo. Mir geht's gut. Ich heiße Julianne Engel. Du kannst mich Julie nennen." Julianne said(Oh, hi. I'm good. My name's Julianne Engel. You can call me Julie)
"Du hast schöne Name." YangYang said with a smile(You have a pretty name)
"Danke schön." Julianne said(Thank you)

YangYang and Julie continued talking for a long while, getting to know each other. Julie is a film major in college and is planning to be an actress or director. While YangYang is already in the entertainment industry, but he has a very different job than Julie was expecting. YangYang is a K-pop and C-pop idol in the groups, NCT and WayV. Proud of his group, YangYang shows Julie a few of the music videos he's starred in. Julie is impressed by the cinematography and visuals of the music videos that were shown to her. Being a film major, she is able to point out specific things about how the videos were filmed and the visuals used to capture the viewer's attention.

Julie is very smart and that really impresses YangYang. While he is a rapper, vocalist, and dancer, Julie isn't much different from him. When they really got to know each other well, YangYang took her back to his childhood home. His parents are still waiting for him and when he walks through the door with Julie, they weren't expecting to see a girl on his arm. That is the last thing they were expecting when they heard that YangYang is coming back to Düsseldorf. Nevertheless, they think Julie is very pretty, and they are already imagining the wedding in the back of their minds.

YangYang and Julie run up to YangYang's old room. He picks up his old violin that he hasn't played since he first left for Korea. He has gotten a new violin that plays much better than this old one, but he is determined to tune it up and play it again. He tunes the violin and runs the bow across the strings and the violin sounds nice. YangYang quickly looks up a song to play on violin to show to Julie. He is really passionate about music and would like to show Julie that playing violin is one of his many talents. YangYang finds a video by the talented violinist JunCurryAhn, who covers many K-pop songs on violin. He smiles as he follows a Call Me Baby violin cover very closely and accurately. Julie watches YangYang play violin in awe. She didn't know that YangYang could play violin so well.

As YangYang is playing, he is very tempted to dance along, but his room is too small to dance to this song. He is also playing violin, so it would hard to do the choreography and play at the same time. Maybe later, YangYang will show Julie all his talents; dancing, singing, and rapping. Julie is very intrigued by this world of K-pop. Usually, Julie doesn't listen to this type of music, but she is vibing to this EXO song right now. When YangYang finishes playing, he lays his old violin to rest. Then he asks,
"What do you think?"
"That was. . . Amazing." Julie said.
"This is my world. I'm an idol and it has become a passion of mine. I love it so much." YangYang said.
"I'm glad you found something you're so passionate about. It's like me with film." Julie said.
"Yeah. I would like to show you that I can dance too." YangYang said.
"Oh, go ahead." Julie said.
"We need to go outside because my room is too small to dance in." YangYang said.
"But it's dark outside." Julie said.
"It'll be fine." YangYang said.
"Okay, suit yourself." Julie said.

YangYang leads Julie outside to the back side of his house. This is where there is enough room for him to do choreography. He decides to do the song, RESONANCE. As he lets the song play, he dances to every part of the song. It is a mashup of every song on the NCT 2020 album, RESONANCE Pt.2. It's quite the hype song, and YangYang is hoping he's not bothering the neighbors by playing this song out loud and dancing along. Julie can just watch, being lost for words. She has no words. She just wonders how she had found YangYang just randomly while out and about in the city.

When YangYang finishes dancing, he takes a moment to catch his breath, then they go back inside. Julie and YangYang settle down in his room.
"So. . . Julie, what do you think of me?" YangYang asked.
"I think you're very talented, nice, and funny." Julie said.
"Ah, thank you." YangYang said.
"You're a. . . Idol, and I had no idea." Julie said, "I thought you were just a normal guy to begin with."
"Yeah, I still have a lot of things you don't know about me." YangYang said.
"What else could there be?" Julie asked, laughing.
"I live in Korea as my job requires it, and I also have. . . Lots of friends." YangYang said.
"Oh, so do I. What do you mean by lots of friends?" Julie asked.
"Like, I work with 22 other guys who are just like me. I have 6 members who I'm close with and we work together as well in a group called WayV." YangYang said.
"Wow. . . I'm just a film major." Julie said.
"That can be cool and interesting too." YangYang said.
"I guess so." Julie said.
After really getting to know Julie, YangYang grew fond of her. He is really starting to like her, and he thinks this is only the beginning to an awesome relationship with her.
