WayV as Boyfriends

Chapter 8: The First Group Date

While most of the girlfriends live far away from where WayV are living, the boys still made a special effort to make their first date with their new girlfriends worth while. They literally flew all us girls over to South Korea so we could have this huge, 14-person hang out/date thing. I don't know, really. The way that Lucas had explained it to me, didn't make sense. I guess we'll all see when we get to Seoul. One by one, each of us walk out from our planes, meeting with our boyfriends. The first girls to arrive in Seoul were the ones who live closest; Haneul, Xiaolian, Jinghua, and Kimiko. The next group of girls to arrive are the ones who live furthest away, those girls include: Chaem, Julie, and I. Once all of us arrived, WayV told us to take get in the car that would pick us up and drop us off at SM Entertainment. Whatever these boys are planning, we are curious about it.

When the 7 of us get to SM Entertainment, all our boyfriends are standing in the lobby, waving us over. We all walk over to them, then in sync, we kiss at the same time. Wow. That was so unexpected. It was like a K-drama scene, except with 7 couples kissing at the same time. We each pull away, now it's time for them to explain why all of us are here.
"Would you like to know why we invited you here now?" Ten asked.
"Yes." All the girls said in unison.
"We wanted you here because we thought it would be fun if we all hung out for our first date." YangYang said.
"So, what does that mean for us?" Julie asked.
"That means," Ten pauses for dramatic effect, "We're all having our first date together in the form of hanging here at SM."
"Are you serious?" Kimiko asked, a little annoyed that this is the first date idea.
"Why not? I'm sure it'll be fun." I said.
"I was hoping for a bit of a more intimate, private date with you." Jinghua said.
"Yeah, me too." Kimiko said.
"Look, girls, girls, girls. This will be fun, you just need to trust us." YangYang said.

Finally, all the girls agree to play along to whatever WayV has planned for us. I feel like they have something very, oh I don't know, it's WayV, so it could literally be anything at this point. WayV reveal to us that their idea of a first group date is similar to activities we would do in a reality show: zip-lining, surfing, wake boarding, and go-kart racing. This honestly sounds like a lot of fun. Now I see why they planned this during summer. All these things are for the summer time. While on the bus to our first activity, I'm getting excited now because I see the ocean and I know we're gonna have lots of fun today.

The first thing we're heading off to do is learning how to surf. I know for sure that I'm going to do so bad at this. I have the worst balance and will probably fall so many times. I don't know about the other girls, though. I wonder if they will do better than me. This is the same place that SuperM went to when they filmed their variety show called M-Topia. That was such a fun show, and I'm glad that Ten and Lucas get to relive those memories right now. Ten is one of those guys who seems to be good at everything, and he's so good at surfing. There is nothing this guy can't do. All of us watch in awe as Ten doesn't even need the teacher to teach him how to surf. He slays the wave pool, drenching all us in water, as he laughs because he made a wave of water splash us.

The next pair to go is Lucas and I. Lucas will go first. He remembers how to do this from his experience on the SuperM variety show, but he is nervous because he feels as if he needs to impress his new girlfriend, me. I don't need to be impressed because Lucas already impresses me by being so talented and good-looking. Lucas tries his best, but he falls so many times that I can't help but laugh at him. I can relate to him, though because I know I'll fall as many times as him right now. I'm the next one to get on the surfboard and start learning how to surf on the wave pool. The teacher holds my hands, telling me to go forward and back, forward and back, etc. I'm all shaky because I'm always so nervous when it comes to being this intimate, even though the teaching is just coaching me on how to surf. Then, I fall into the water. I sit up, playing in the water, feeling defeated.
"You did great, babe." Lucas said, putting a thumbs up.
"Sure, next person." I said.

The next couple to go is Kun and Xiaolian. Kun does great at surfing, going almost as long as Ten did. Xiaolian applauds Kun as he does so well at surfing. Then, Xiaolian goes after him. She doesn't do as well as Kun, but she still did better than me. Next up is WinWin and Jinghua. WinWin is usually a great dancer, but let's see how he does on the water. I wasn't expecting it, but WinWin falls down the second the teacher lets go of his hands. Wow, WinWin is actually more clumsy than I thought. Or maybe he's never surfed in his life, so that’s why he's not good at it, and still learning. Then, even more shocking was when Jinghua went. She did so well, even dipping her hand in the water and making the water drench all of sitting on the benches. We all laugh, but astounded by her shear talent.
