Chapter 22

Jasmine:

At first there was nothing but darkness. And nothing but it. Then I saw some light, there was a bright sky, and then I woke up. I wake in a meadow, with my emerald green dress on.

My hair is tied in a messy bun, I have a lot of flowers in my hand. I'm all alone. I stand up wobily and let the flowers drop. I untie my hair. Its all in one big knot, I'll have to cut it.

I feel strangely healthy, I look down at my exposed legs, the brushes are gone. As is the pain!

I smile to myself and walk north, to some sort of civilization. Hoping I can find my grandma. I look down at my legfs again, but I see that the veins are glowing green.

I end up in the Earth Kingdom I walk to my house. My bare feet are soar, I walk inside, without knocking.

"Jasmine?"

"Yeah! Hey grandma, I have to tell you something."

She's sitting at the small table in the kitchen. "What is it sweetheart?"

I sit next to her and tell her everything. From that first thought of leaving to waking up in the meadow. She looks at me, beautiful eyes wide with concentration.

Oncenim finished she looks at me. Not at all surprised that I died and came back.

"I have something to tell  you two. But first thing's first, we have to cut that hair."

"Okay," I follow her into the bathroom. Where she grabs a pair of siccors, and an electric razor. I sit in a chair she sets up and close my eyes as she snips off my hair.

I stare at my hair in the reflection of the mirror. It's now a pixie cut, as short as a boy's hair.

I rarely ever cut my hair, it always went down really far down my back. Now starting in my mirror I have to stifle a scream.

I walk out of the bathroom, and into the kitchen. I sot down on one of the seats as my grandma makes us sandwiches.  She hands me one and I bite into it.

She grabs her sandwich, and sits down across from me.

"Now, what did you have to tell me?"

"Well, the elemental gene is passed down from generation then it skips one and goes to the next generation."

"Wait what?"

"You're an Enchantress, an Enchantress of Earth. But, in our family it skips a generation. I knew when you were born that it'd be you. Like me, and who ever gave you those flowers brought you back to life.

"Without them, you'd still be dead. Gone forever. But know you're as healthy as ever."

There's a knock on the door. "Go hide!"

I run into the hall. My grandma answers the door, I hear two men's voice and a woman's. Rosemary.

I peek out darkly, just in time to see my grandma been carried out by the two men. The same way the did to my neighbor. She's going to the Land of Enchantment.
