Chapter 6
Bre:
"I can't believe they'd try and wage war! Do they know what'd it do to the kingdoms?" My father wails.
"Now, funny, calm down our daughter's in the room," my mother tries to calm him.
"No point, Mom. The Water Kingdom has pushed it too far, and if it's a war they want... then we have no other choice but to comply," I say.
My mother and father stare at me, along with the servants in the room. Slowly my father lips form a smile. "Spoken like a true princess."
I smile and give a polite nod. "I think I'm going to go to bed. It's been a long day."
"Go ahead, dear, if you can't fall asleep feel free to come back out here," my mother smiles.
I walk away to my room, once I get there I close my door behind me and fall on the perfectly made bed. Closing my eyes tightly.
I'm the Princess of the Air Kingdom. My name is Breeze, but I go by Bre for short. I have light gray hair, white eyes. My skin is smooth, and light brown skin, it's clear of blemishes.
With thoughts of a war against the Water Kingdom, banished from my brain. I fall asleep.

Clink! Clink!
I open my eyes. Clink! A pebble hits my window, I get up and go to it. I undo the latch and push open the window. I stare down at the peasant boy , with white hair and clear eyes. One of my parent's servants.
I had been dating him in secret for almost three months now.
I smile. "What?"
He shrugs. "I thought you might wanna go into the woods, or something," he says.
My smile grows. "Sure...." I look around out of the window. "How do I get out?"
He laughs. "Climb out."
I moan. "How?"
"Look, just step out onto the ledge, and climb down... OK I'll get a latter."
"And where are you gonna get that from?" I ask smirking.
"Give me a second," he sprints away from my window.
I lean out. "Nigel!" I quietly scream. "Where are you going?"
He comes back about ten minutes after he left. Carrying a tall ladder. He leans it against the side of my house softly.
"Okay, climb down."
My eyes widen. "What!" I begin to tremble. "You want me to climb down a ladder? What if it fall while I'm climbing down?"
"It won't, I'm holding it steady." His large hands wrap around the two metal legs of the ladder. "Please, come down."
I step onto the ladder, my leg trembling harder. My clear glass, high heels shaking against the silver metal of the ladder. I slowly make my way down the ladder, shaking.
On the fifth step from the ground my heels slip. I fall backwards off the ladder. That's embarrassing enough on it's own. To make matters worse, I fell on Nigel.
Causing both of us to hit the ground. The ladder leans forward and falls on us. "Ow!" I scream.
He laughs, really hard. "It's not funny," I say.
"Yea, it is. Why would you go down a ladder with those shoes on?"
I laugh too. "I don't know, but one thing is certain," I say propping myself up on my elbows, staring down into his eyes. The ladder on my back.
"And what's that?" He asks.
"That I hate these shoes."
I stand up, pushing the ladder off me and setting it horizontally against the bottom of my house. Trying my best to disguise it. I take off my shoes, and set them near the ladder.
I turn around. "Ready?" I ask.
He smiles at me. Still lying down, head propped up on one hand.
I groan. "Get up!"
He does. "Ready?"
"Yes, I am, now, where do you wanna go?"
"The woods?" I ask.
"Perfect!" He grabs my hand and we run towards, the woods,
My heart racing. I love him, I do. But, if anyone is to find out he and I are together, he will be killed or punished by my father. And I can't have that. So we sneak into the woods, hand in hand, with no one watching... at least, I don't think anyone saw us.

I laugh, hard. As Nigel falls into the small lake.
He pulls himself out of the water. "Do you wanna try it?"
I snort. "No."
He grabs me in his arms, lifting me in the air. "Too bad."
"No!" I squeal, and begin struggling. "Nigel, Nigel don't. I have to go home soon-"
"Oh, how cute. The Princesses of the Air Kingdom with a peasant boy!" A voice hisses.
I turn around to see two sapphire eyes flowering glaring at us. I push myself out of Nigel's arms.
"What are you doing here, Waters? You know you're in the wrong kingdom."
She snorts. "So are you, these woods aren't in any particular kingdom. You'd get in just as much trouble as I would."
Nigel steps toward her. "Leave us, winch. You don't belong here."
She laughs evily. "And what are you going to do, peasant?"
"I will kill you, if you continue to speak to me that way."
"Oh you will?"
"Yes, I will."
"Listen, I'm not here to hurt anyone. I'm here to get away from them."
"From who?" I ask.
"My father he wants me to- to- lead them into war. I can't do it. Not after centuries of peace."
The tower clock, dings midnight. I look toward my home. "Listen, I understand, how you feel. Um, but I've gotta go. Let's meet back here at nine o'clock tomorrow night maybe we can fix it!"
"Fine, is he gonna come?" She points to Nigel who's glaring at her.
"I'm going wherever she's going. You think-"
"Yes! But, he won't harm you. I've gotta go."
With that I grab Nigel's hand and lead him back towards the kingdom. I get back in through the window. Say goodbye to him. He leaves.
I lie back down in bed. From outside I can here someone talking quickly. Someone who's voice I don't recognize.
"Listen, King, I swear I saw your daughter. Running into the Forbidden Woods with a poor boy. One of your servants, in fact."
My father gives a low growl. "Guards find this boy, and when you do. Bring him to me. I want to personally tell him, where he's going."
I sit up out of bed and run out the door. "Father, I never left. I-"
I see him. Being dragged in through the door, Nigel. Before I can say anything, the guards dragged him into a door. I'm not sure what my father's saying.
But, one thing rings clearly in my ears. Nigel's screams.
