Chapter 13

Bre:

The sun must be rising now, it's six- thrity. It must already be bright where Nigel is. My hand and wrist is wrapped in a bandage. To stop the bleeding. I had never once cut myself before last night.

The pain at first seemed to relieve all my anger and depression. But, now it just makes it worse. Makes life harder.

Everything seems to suck. There's nothing I can do about that....

Actual it seems like there's nothing I can do, about anything. That's why my life seems worthless. I seem worthless.

Dew, always tries to tell me otherwise, but, I always feel like this. I know now, maybe I shouldn't have gotten with Nigel, he would be safe. And I would be back to my normal state of mind.

I wouldn't be so sad...

He wouldn't be almost dead. Neither would I.

I need to find him! Bring him food, make him a shelture.

I just, need him.

I stand up, grab a bag and walk out of the room, towards the dinning hall. Where they're serving breakfast. I walk down to the area filled with packaged food.

Like muiffins, and small other asortments. I stuff my bag full with packaged burritos, muffins, other packaged snacks. I even get my hands on a bunch of dried fruits.

And some water bottles. When my bag is full, I go back up to my room, and stuff it again. I do this until there's practically no food left in this area. Barley anyone eats breakfast anyway.

So no notices. I did agree to going with them so I'm also packing so we can eat, I'm also going to take other things. Like a first-aid kit and so we sleeping bags.

But, it's also for Nigel. I don't want anyone to starve, so I will be seeing Nigel. And I will be marrying him. Whether my father likes it or not.

He doesn't matter because, I won't be returning. And that's all there is to it. Nothing more...

It's not that I hate my father ormother, I just love Nigel and I want to be with and my parents don't. That's why I'm leaving.

I stuff my bags full of blankets, and a first aid kit. Then with clothes and a bar of soap. At noon, I meet them under the stairs, in the basement. Whetre we stuff more bags with weapons.

Each of us only taking a dagger, for concealed protection.

The rest gets stuffed in bags. We can carry the bags, all of us. Fay, Dew, and I carry the large bags of food, and water bottles. While Flame, Nick, and Jared carry the ones with weapons.

Jasmine and Snow carry the ones with clothes. Which makes four. Everyone combined bags so it'll be easier for them. We wait for the last dance to begin.

"So let's go over the plan again."

"Okay... When they open the doors, to the outside, we're going to wait until after all the other people go out there. Along with the guards. That's when we'll make our move. We'll try to blend into the crowd. Without getting too much attention to us. Then we'll hide in the woods, and go south from there."

"Simple. We can't mess that up."

"No!" Snow squeals. "You're gonna jinx us!"

"Shhh stop screaming."

"It's starting, let's go."

We start up the stairs slowly. I'm half way up when the door opens. We stop in the spots we're in. Standing there, in front of us. Just a couple feet in front of me.

With a snicker on his face. He glares down at me, my father.
