it was lunch time and everyone was eating lunch and enjoying each others company, but claire wasn't hungry.

she never was.

"i'll be right back" she muttered.

she got up and walked to the bathroom, next to jim's room.

when she was done, she went to go back downstairs when she saw him sleeping. she smiled and crept into his room and pulled a chair over next to his bed. she reached out and brushed the hair out of his eyes, twirling his messy hair in between her fingers.

as mad as she wanted to be, she couldn't. now was not the time anyway, she didn't want to be mad at him went he had saved enrique, but going in the darklands without her. ouch, that hurt a bit.

"he really cared about you claire"

she jumped and turned to see barbara in the doorway.

claire laughed. "he really did" she answered.

"he has taken a certain liking to you." she sighed. "he looks at you like i looked a jim's father."

claire's breath caught in her throat, she turned her head back to the sleeping boy and smiled at him.

"i've noticed you look at him the same way" barbara answered.

claire smiled looking from jim to his mother.

"i guess you're right" she answered. "you son is one amazing guy, he's definitely something special."claire looked at her feet. "its my fault he went into the darklands, i'm sorry"

barbara was shocked. claire continued. "he promised to me he would save enrique, but that was before i knew how dangerous everything was. he didn't have to save enrique, but i just."she paused. "i could have gotten him killed, and i'm sorry"

before claire could look up to face barbara, she felt arms wrap around her. "do not, blame yourself. he's not dead and its not your fault." claire looked up and smiled.

"i'll leave you guys alone" she answered, walking out of the room and closing the door.

claire stood there, still looking at the door when strong arms wrapped around her waist. she gasped before turning around, now face to face with jim.

"she's right" he answered. his voice was deeper and her was a head taller now. his dark brown hair had grown out and curled around his face. not to mention, he was fit.

she felt tears run out of her eyes.

"don't blame yourself, i did this to myself" he sighed, wiping her tear off her face. "i didn't just promise to you, i promised to myself too." she smiled. "so if i hear you blaming yourself again, i'll pull daylight on you, mkay?" his eyes were droopy and he tilted his head, a soft smile on his lips.

god, he was so cute

she smiled and wrapped him in a hug.

"i missed you, so god damn much" she whispered into his ear.

"i missed you too claire." he whispered back.

she pushed out of the hug.

"we should tell the others your awake!" she exclaimed.

he frowned and sat on his bed. "not yet, i wanna hear everything, stay with me?"

she smiled and closed the door. "of course" she answered. "but we need to tell them soon"

she sat on the bed next to him, and almost immediately he leaned into her, laying his head on hers. he had grown a lot.

she sighed. "when did you wake up?"

"when you came in" he muttered, still snuggled up against claire.

she stiffened. "well why didn't you tell me?" she asked, trying to muffle out a laugh.

"i liked it when you played with my hair, and i couldn't wake up once my mom came in, you guys were having a conversation." he smirked.

she froze, opening her mouth to talk but jim continued.

"i'm glad i did, now i know you care about me as much as i care about you."

"i do care about you jim, a lot"

"i'm not doubting you nunez"

she laughed and roller her eyes.

he laced their fingers.

jim smirked again, not knowing where the confidence was coming from, and pulled them both down so they were laying on his bed.

he looked at her, she was so gorgeous lying their next to him.  he grabbed her cheek, turning her head to face him. he slowly wrapped his arms around her waist, pulling her in as close as he could.

then his phone went off.
