An Interestinng Proposal (kakanaru)

Summary: Naruto's nothing if not persistent.

Naruto was walking down the street, well, more toddling. You see, Naruto was four years old. He had just gotten his new apartment and he was getting used to splitting money so he could buy food, so he was at the market, getting ramen because he liked ramen and it was cheap. As he was making his way to the grocery store his tiny mind became captivated by the silver hair of one of the people in the crowd. Forgetting food, he stumbled to follow the silver haired boy through the busy streets.

He looked to be about twelve or thirteen and he was wearing a jacket that Naruto recognized. 'He must be a ninja!' He thought as he continued following the boy. Eventually the mysterious boy took a turn down a direction Naruto had never been before, but he followed anyway. Eventually the boy stopped at a weird metal thing in the middle of a clearing, the boy crouched in front of it and stayed silent. Now naruto could see just enough of the boy's face to see he had a mask on, he only had one eye visible and it was staring with desperation at the metal thing.

Now Naruto had made up his mind. He looked through the grass and found the 'biggest, most perfectest' dandelion, he hid it behind his back and waddled over to the boy.

"Hi!!" Naruto cheered, looking at the other boy with his big blue eyes.

The boy whipped around to face him, his eye looked slightly startled but then it turned to an emotion Naruto had never seen before. Naruto cleared his throat and continued. "My name is Nawuto Uzumaki, dattebayo! What's you name?" He asked, trying to sound confident. 

The boy was silent, but his eye softened at the brash toddler. "Kakashi Hatake" he answered finally, turning a little so he was facing one of the many victims of his failures, his sensei's son.

Naruto's eyes sparkled, he shoved the dandelion in front of him, looking to Kakashi with hopeful eyes. "Wiww you mawwy me?" He asked in a sweet voice, but developing vocabulary.

Kakashi was completely taken aback by the sudden proposal, not saying a thing.

Naruto, seeing this, explained himself. "If wewre mawwied dat wouwd mean love and you cant be sad if you wove somebody! That's what Jiji says!" He said confidently, wanting to stop the stranger from being sad.

Kakashi shook his head to clear it before giving the boy an eye smile.
