Summary: Genos gets a way to go back in time and defeat the demon cyborg before his town is destroyed, but for some reason the demon cyborg never comes. He lives his life over, until he's the same age he once was and the world ends. He tried desperately to find his sensei to fix it but only found death records from the year after he traveled back. He has to rebuild a cyborg body that never existed in this timeline and go back to be the demon cyborg that kills his family or the world will end again.

Content. It was a feeling that Genos didn't know he would ever feel again with his steel bones and his synthetic skin, and yet here he was. There wasn't anything impressive going on, it was Thursday, and for some reason there was almost never crime on Thursdays. His sensei was sitting in his same place, reading manga with the news on in case something happened, and Genos didn't have anything to do really. The apartment was clean and the fridge was full.
So, he sat next to Saitama watching the news. Honestly, he was starting to get bored when his sensei shifted, grabbed the remote and changed the channel. He flipped through a few channels before stopping on a nature documentary and going back to his manga. Genos was instantly brought to attention with the artful pans of baby sea turtles, while a gentle voice explained the life cycle of the creatures. He always loved watching animals.
"Sensei, shouldn't we be watching the news reports?" He asked, but there wasn't nearly as much conviction as his gold eyes stayed locked on the movement of the sea turtles cutting through the water.
The bald man sighed. "You can't be everywhere at once, Genos. Have some faith in your fellow S-ranks, they can handle anything that might happen on a Thursday afternoon." The Cyborg itched to get his notepad.
His focus grew away from the television. "But, what if something like those aliens comes? You were the only one that stood a chance against them." Saitama's shoulders tightened infidecimally and his eyes stopped scanning the page.
"Nothing like him will be coming anytime soon, if ever." His voice just slightly shifted to signal a negative thought. Suddenly, the peace was gone, and what was left was Genos silently questioning what exactly happened on that spaceship.
2:
It was another monster, and while Genos was much better than he once was, he lost both arms before his master intervened. It was all the cyborg could do to stare in amazement as for the hundredth time, the bald heroine punched and all that was left was guts and gore. The man let out a sigh and Genos felt sick for making his master have to intervene.
The same hands that destroyed the dragon-level threat picked him up so gently, speeding toward the blonde's doctor while trying to make casual conversation.
"You know, you could let me help you more, that way you wouldn't have to be rushed to the doc's so much." A kind sentiment, but how could Genos get stronger if his teacher fought all his battles? Besides, the man was lying through his teeth when he said he didn't mind. The blonde was observant enough to see the same look of grief every time a monster was obliterated without Saitama needing so much as to crack his knuckles.
"Thank you, but I can never face the Mad Cyborg if you fight all my battles, Sensei." The thought of revenge bittered Genos' artificial taste buds. He didn't know why, but ever since he started following Saitama, he felt less and less inclined to take revenge for the family he could barely remember, as evil as that sounded. He shook the thoughts from his head when he felt the all-too-familiar shifting to one of Sensei's arms so the older man could knock on the lab door with the newly freed hand.
Everything that happened from there was a blur, getting repairs and new arms with upgrades that would make minimal difference, a pattern rarely broken. One of the only things different about these arms was that they had a shiny black finish that made his arms look more sleek. The long-nosed man made a comment about increasing firepower and range that Genos simply didn't pay attention to.
He was busy focused on the expression his teacher wore. The man was focused on something, all the lines on his face hardening into a sharp gaze that could pierce diamonds. It was a rare expression and to be pointed at the floor of the lab meant there was something extremely important going through his head. He refocused on his surroundings when the bald man dampened his demeanor and turned his gaze to doctor Kuseno. "-I need to have a minute alone with Genos-kun, if you don't mind." The younger of the two nodded before giving one last glance to the blonde and leaving.
Gold eyes turned to the doctor, and the old man sighed. "Genos, what is your goal?" The question was odd, since both knew full well. But when the words were spoken, all Genos' human brain could come up with was Saitama.
Saitama smiling that tiny smile, that one that he'd only seen a few times. Saitama laughing because of a joke Genos told him. Saitama swooping in to help just when Genos needed him.
"To get revenge for my village, and kill the Mad Cyborg." He said, not letting his facial structure tweak as he got one of the worst tastes in his mouth. The doctor nodded before taking out a small box, inside held a blue microchip.
"This is my latest work. It'll only fit in your new arms, and it will help you kill the Mad Cyborg." The blonde's eyes widened, he stared in awe at the chip, pondering what kind of weapon it was.
The man laughed, but it had little humor to it. "With this chip, you can go backwards in time. Find the Mad Cyborg before he can wreak havoc, and kill him to save your village." Every shred of doubt dissipated at the thought of saving his village, his family. He stood up and gave a salute with oily tears pooling in his eyes. "I won't put your work to waste, I promise you."
The doctor installed the chip before explaining some of the rules he knew for time-travel. "If you touch a version of yourself from the past, your minds will essentially fuse. You will gain any memories that you don't have with the clarity the other Genos has, and your body will disintegrate while your consciousness moves to the past self. This is something to be avoided unless absolutely necessary, because it would destroy the chip that can take you back home." Genos noted diligently as Kuseno spoke.
"I'll have to transfer all the data I have on the time-travel technology to you in case you're in a dire situation and have to transfer consciousness. It'll take about an hour to transfer if you want to talk with Saitama while you wait." The teen nodded before the bald man was summoned back in.
When the plan was explained to him, the reaction was...less than ideal. Something flashed in his sensei's eyes that Genos didn't have the time to note before it was schooled back into the monotone the man usually wore. "Is this what you want to do?" For the second time today, someone questioned Genos' resolve and he was becoming irritated.
"Of course, this is the only reason I've been training under you, sensei." Every human part of him was having doubts, but he wasn't human anymore. He was a cyborg that, not even a day ago, could only dream of being human again. He was doing this for his family.
There it was again, family. He could barely picture any family aside from Kuseno, and all his thoughts were drawn to Saitama. He was...he was looking odd.
He looked tired, disappointed, but Genos couldn't look into that because it was almost time for him to go. "If I do this, I will have saved thousands, sensei. I know you would have done the same." He said, his teacher flinched.
"Genos, you're all set. Do you want to go now or later?" The blonde opted for going as soon as possible, and took a deep breath he barely needed. He gave a smile to his teacher. "Next time I see you, it might even be through my own eyes." And he activated the program.
___
The scenery changed, and suddenly the lab was an empty warehouse. Genos logged that this is probably what the lab looked like before…
He was looking in the exact place Saitama once stood, and the man was nowhere in sight. It was somewhat eerie, and Genos left through a doorway without a door.
Outside it was nearly the same as it would be four years in the future, and Genos made a b-line toward a set of coordinates. His data told him that it was still a few days before the Mad Cyborg would arrive,
