Harry's POV

"Do it"

Griphook grinned at my request and stood up saying "as you wish" before leading me into a side room I hadn't noticed before.

The room was completely bare, the only notable feature being a circle carved into the floor with strange symbols around it.

I was instructed to lay down in the circle and did as I was told.

"What's going to happen to me?" I asked, the nerves clearly showing through the brave face I was putting on.

"I will break the blocks placed on your magical core. It will take a few minutes, but you will experience some...discomfort." He said the last word with a snicker, making my mind race with all the horrible possibilities I could be forced to encounter. As if reading my mind, Griphook quickly said "don't worry, you've certainly felt worse."

"That's reassuring..." I said rolling my eyes, still trying to construct a veil of confidence.

I laid back and closed my eyes, steeling myself for the pain that was to come next.

Griphook stood somewhere in front of me and asked if I was ready.

"Ready" I said, holding my breath.

I could immediately hear chanting in what I can assume was gobbledegook.

A searing pain began coursing through me again, just as it had during my inheritance. The somewhat familiar burning coursed its way through my veins and I fought back the urge to scream. My eyes were screwed shut, and white lines swam across my vision before everything turned black.

Suddenly, I woke up on the cold, stone floor. I looked around quickly before remembering where I was. Griphook was standing in the corner, watching me with slightly widened eyes.

I sat up and rubbed my head, trying to dispel the lingering pain.

"I took the liberty of summoning your Father. He's in the other room if you're ready to continue."

"Continue?" I asked, I had thought this was it! Surely there can't be any more pain to endure today...

"Yes." Griphook replied, seemingly irritated as he waited for me to gather myself from the floor.

I got up slowly and followed Griphook back into the first room, confused for a second as Remus Lupin stared at me expectantly.

"Harry?" He said, in a state of disbelief. I can't believe my Felix was here all along...

"I didn't know my father was here the whole time either..." I said, smiling sadly.

"You heard that? I didn't think I said that out loud...."

"Oh...sorry, I guess I can hear thoughts?" I had forgotten that part of my inheritance.

"Right! Telepathy! It's from your inheritance!" Lupin said, still ecstatic at seeing his son for the first time in 15 years.

Griphook cleared his throat from behind his desk, reminding us of his presence.

"Shall we continue?" He said, looking me in the eyes.

"Oh! Yes, sorry..." I trailed off, sitting in the chair opposite him which until then I had forgotten about.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Now then, Mr. Black-Lupin, your blocks have been removed. Since you have come into your inheritance, you are considered an adult in the eyes of Magical Authority and Gringotts Bank. We have noticed and recorded many strange changes to your vaults over the years, and now that you are of age, you can decide the fate of your affairs as the heir to many noble houses."
Once finished, Griphook took the parchment from before and flipped it over, exposing a second side that I had overlooked before. It read:
Heirship:
Potter (illegally withheld)
Black (illegally withheld)
Ravenclaw (illegally withheld)
Slytherin (illegally withheld)
Gryffindor (illegally withheld)
Hufflepuff (illegally withheld)
Vaults:
Potter (65,000 galleons)
Black (1,275,000 galleons)
Ravenclaw (16,097,872 galleons)
Slytherin (1,569,845,000 galleons)
Gryffindor (934,826,000 galleons)
Hufflepuff (14,730,800 galleons)
Estates:
Potter (3 properties)
Black (2 properties)
Ravenclaw (13 properties)
Slytherin (29 properties)
Gryffindor (34 properties)
Hufflepuff (20 properties)
Hogwarts Castle
I couldn't think. I stared at the parchment, turning the numbers over in my head, unable to absorb the information.
Griphook looked amused at my expression, but continued on, bringing me back to my senses.
"You may recall, you were only given access to one vault before now. The remaining vaults and estates were illegally withheld by one Albus Dumbledore." He spat out the name with pure disgust in his tone. "We have kept records of illegal transfers from your vaults as well. At your word, all money and property taken illegally will be returned," Griphook smirked before finishing "with interest."
I looked up at Lupin whose eyes were as big as mine. Dumbledore? How could he...?
"I'd like everything returned with interest." I said decisively, looking coldly at Giphook.
"The pleasure is all mine." He said before scribbling something down on a scrap of parchment. He looked back to me and said "Your vaults and properties will be restored by the morning. You are free to leave if you wish. Dumbledore will be barred from entering any of your properties, and all accounts will be frozen as of this moment while we assess the debt owed to you."
I thanked him and turned to Lupin who was still frozen with the shock of everything that had just happened.
"Should we...?" I asked, nervous that he would leave me back with the Dursleys.
"Yes, let's go home." He said, smiling for the first time as he looking deeply into my eyes.
We took the parchment and left Gringotts, flooing "home".
