Lupin's POV

As the boys slept, we continued discussing thoughts about the veil's significance in Sirius' disappearance. We passed around theories for a while, but we couldn't do much without being able to see it in person.

I just want him back...

Before too long, Molly was cooking up a spread and I decided to see if the boys were still asleep.

I stood near the doorway, happy to see that Felix was content.

"Is he still asleep?" I asked George quietly, trying not to wake him incase he was.

A muffled "nooo" came from Felix, leaving a little smile on my face.

They're all so adorable I thought before turning to leave.

As I left my post at the door frame, I let the boys know when dinner was and told them not to be late. Molly probably wouldn't mind if they were, but I knew Felix needed to eat.

Dinner rolled around after what only felt like a few minutes, and the boys were hand in hand when they arrived.

Ron was sat anxiously at the table for fifteen minutes before dinner was announced, and was already stuffing his face before the rest of us sat down. I saw Ginny shoot him a disgusted look as she sat down which made me smile internally. She was so different from the Weasley boys.

Plates of food were passed around the table as everyone filled their plates with Molly's amazing feast. Everyone except Felix, that is.

I was watching him carefully because I knew he had some difficult thoughts and emotions regarding food, especially because of the way the Dursleys punished him by taking it away.

He looked particularly worried when gravy was passed around, and I wondered why...

I noticed him looking back at me, and decided to drop it -at least for now. He has enough to worry about without me watching him 24/7.

Dinner was uneventful other than the anxiety I could tell Felix had for the small portions of food he had on his plate.

I wish I knew how to help him...it seems so difficult for him.

There were only a few measly bites of potatoes left, but I could see Felix was panicking. George looked to me for help, and I immediately started Ron on a rant about which quidditch position takes the most skill to play.

After dinner, the boys were excused to their room. Ginny, Hermione, and Ron were sent to the living room to play wizard chess while the adults talked.

There wasn't all that much we could talk about that we hadn't already.

In the morning, Arthur would go to work and at some point use Felix's invisibility cloak to sneak into the room that contained the veil. We still weren't exactly sure what he would do when he found it, but finding it is the first logical step to take. Once we are sure that it is still there, we can go in together and try to get him out.

That was the idea anyway.

I could feel hope trying to creep its way back into my thoughts. Since Sirius vanished, I shut all hope out. I needed to be logical and think my way through problems as crying solves nothing. There's no time to feel sorry for yourself when you're focused on chasing leads and compiling information.

I said goodnight and went to my room even though it was only 7pm. I needed to be alone with my thoughts. I know that's dangerous, but I couldn't let myself think with everyone else around.
