YOUR POV

You were engaging in lighthearted chatter with your close friend Sirius whilst Remus and Harry were occupied in their own conversation. You had decided to visit Sirius at Grimmauld Place 12, as he had been feeling pretty low lately and you wanted to cheer your friend up for old times sake.
Sat at the long table, you were surrounded by many familiar faces of the people who you had grown to care deeply for; Tonks, Harry, Ron, Hermione, Remus, and of course Sirius.
It was nearing night as the sky was turning a harsh shade of navy, but you weren't tired at all. There was nowhere else you'd rather be, you didn't realise how much you'd missed them all until now.

"So Y/N" Sirius began, as the many faces at the table turned their attention towards you, "How are things? Enjoying Hogwarts?"
You had become a teacher for defence against the dark arts a few months prior, but hadn't seen Sirius till now, so he was interested.
"Oh Hogwarts is magical, literally" you joked, earning a few appreciative laughs from the others.
"No but I really do like it there, I've met so many new people!" you expressed fondly. It was true, your time at Hogwarts so far had been close to perfect, you loved your students and the other professors were kind to you.
Well, apart from one.

You and Severus Snape, the potions master of Hogwarts, were known for your long lasting rivalry ever since you had joined the school.
You didn't quite know why, but he had just never particularly warmed to you, for a reason unbeknownst to you, but you didn't exactly mind as you despised him just as much as he did you.

Pulling you out of your thoughts, there were a few firm knocks suddenly heard on the front door.
"Oh that must be Severus" Remus said calmly, rising from his seat and heading towards the door.
Speak of the devil.
You turned to Sirius, a bemused expression on your face as you whispered a "Snape's here?"
Sirius gave a light eye roll, as he too wasn't exactly fond of the man.
"Unfortunately yes, Severus is apart of the order just like the rest of us. Apparently he has some new information on Voldemort" He explained and you nodded understandingly.
The door opened, and in walked the man you had grown to hate. His snobby expression as he looked down upon everyone angered you to no avail.
"Have a seat, Severus?" Remus spoke.
"I'm quite fine...thank you" he mumbled the thank you, not wanting to appear appreciative.
He then took note of you, looking at you with evident confusion and a signature raised eyebrow.
Remus noticed this and explained, "Ah yes, Y/N here has also joined the order, Severus."
You looked up at him and rolled your eyes, turning back to the others as Severus scowled down at you.
"Very well" he breathed, rubbing his forehead with aggravation as he walked nearer to the table, his black robes swishing as he did so.

Sighing, he seemed to mentally prepare himself for what he was about to inform.
After some time he finally spoke.
"It appears that Voldemort is aware of Harry's part in the order, he isn't happy about it."
Gasps were heard from everyone at the table as chatter arose. Deciding to be bold, you made yourself heard over the others,
"how on earth does he know?"
Rolling his eyes slightly at you, Snape gave a tight lipped, "Well L/N if I knew that I would've obviously said so" as a response.
"Hey no need to be a jerk Snivellus eh? She was only asking" Sirius defended, you smiled at him.
Snape saw you smile at Sirius, his old enemy, and felt his heart sink but brushed the feeling aside.
"Don't call me that, Black" Snape spat with venom as he grew impatient with the man.
"Or what?" Sirius began "It wouldn't kill ya to be a decent human being for once you know! Stop being a prick!" Sirius's voice rose as he stood from his chair, approaching the black clad man.
"Hey hey hey Sirius come on, just leave it" Remus tired to settle the situation, coming to Sirius and standing by his side.
"No let him bark. Let him show how pathetic he really is" Snape seethed as he eyed Sirius.
