YOUR POV

You slam the door, leaving yours and Severus's home, in Spinners End, fresh tears running down your face at the evenings recent events. You and Severus had gotten into a heated argument, he had been distant and was refusing to show any vulnerability towards you. When you confronted him about it, he put up his usual cold defence, shutting you out once more. More and more issues were bought up and you were left screaming at each other, resulting in you leaving.

You cursed yourself mentally as you realised you left your purse at home. You were hoping you could stay at a hotel for the night, considering that you definitely weren't going back to Severus tonight. You didn't want to show him that he'd won so, letting your stubbornness get the best of you, you decided to continue walking to who knows where.

You found yourself in Diagon Alley after some time. It was unusually deserted, seeing as it was getting late, and most people were at home with their loved ones. Not you you thought.
You sat on a bench and buried your hands into your sleeves, wishing you'd bought a coat as it was the middle of winter and you were freezing.
As if your luck couldn't get any worse, it started to pour with rain. You wrapped your arms around yourself, feeling the cold nip your skin as you were only wearing a shirt and jeans. It was around 11:00pm now and you were still curled up on this godforsaken bench, the rain even heavier than before. You were freezing cold and completely soaked to the bone, all you could think about was how much you craved to be falling asleep in Sev's arms right now, in the warmth of your bed. You missed him already.
A single tear made its way down your cheek as you held your knees to your chest and buried your face into them, crying softly.

The rain was loud, you could even begin to hear thunder. It was so loud that you didn't hear footsteps rushing towards you, calling your name through the storm.
Your head snapped up from your knees as you felt a long black cape wrap around your chilled frame, strong arms engulfing you as Severus tried to keep you warm.
He stood up from the bench and pulled you up with him, but you were too weak to stand and almost fell to the ground if it weren't for Sev catching you in his arms.
You shot him a glare and he rolled his eyes, shouting to be heard above the storm,
"Look Y/N we'll talk about this later. But right now you're more important."
You felt your expression soften as you nodded glumly.
He picked you up gently in his arms, as you couldn't walk, his cape still wrapped around you being your only source of heat currently.
You both apparated back to your home.

As Severus opened the door you were immediately greeted with the familiar warm feeling of your living room, and you felt warm once again.
Severus set you down gently on the long couch in front of the fire without saying a word and went up to your shared bedroom.
You were confused but shut your eyes, assuming he was going to bed. But a couple of minutes later he returned with some of your comfiest dry clothes, you gave him a light smile as he handed them to you.
Once you had changed clothes you felt much better and shyly looked up at Severus. His expression was hard.
"What were you thinking?!" he began, startling you
"I was worried SICK about you Y/N! I didn't know what had happened to you! Somebody could've taken you, you could've gotten hurt! Do you not think for a SECOND about your actio-"
he trailed off as you began sniffling, wiping your tears angrily with your sleeve.
He sighed and sat down next to you, pulling you gently into his arms as you cried into his chest, him stroking your hair and shushing you.
You finally pulled apart, your bloodshot eyes refusing to meet his. But you failed as he lightly lifted your chin to look at him, his expression filled with guilt.
"I'm so sorry." He said after some time, hurt filling his voice whilst you just stared at him in shock.
"I should never of been distant with you. I should've just told you about my feelings" he continued, gently caressing your cheek.
He looked away at his hands in shame.
"I'm such a fucking idiot. You deserve so much better than this" he said to himself critically.
You cupped his face with your hand and stroked his cheek, his eyes refusing to meet yours this time.
"Look at me" you commanded softly as he did, eyes glossy.
"It's okay sweetheart, i understand that you struggle opening up to people. But i'm your girlfriend. You know i'd never judge nor shame you, i love you for you."
Your words seemed to reassure him as he bit his lip shyly.
"You really mean that?"
"Always."
You brought his face to yours and kissed him softly, the both of you savouring what you had missed as his hands rested on your neck, deepening the kiss.
You both pulled apart after some time as your foreheads rested against one another's.
You both smiled for what felt like the first time in ages.
"I love you" you cooed, kissing his forehead.
He smiled in response and you both made your way upstairs to finally get some sleep.

As you both settled into bed his arm found it's way around your small frame, pulling you closer to him as he nuzzled his face into the crook of your neck.
"I love you more" he whispered, causing you to smile in the darkness. The both of you falling asleep in each other's arms.
