Bryn:

"Now what?" I asked hitting my head on the shelving unit behind me. "We wait." Carl said without even making eye contact with me. I slid down to the ground. I rested my head against the wall and closed my eyes. We sat there in silence for a while. No birds chirping. No butterflies soaring through the air. Only moans and the sound of feet shuffling could be heard. Minutes passed by. Maybe even an hour or two. Carl was asleep. He relocated himself to a mattress that was there near the opposite end of where I was at. It was dark out now.

Looks like we were stuck in here for the right. I was nearly drifting off when there was pounding on the door. I didn't make anything of it at first considering it was probably a stray chomper who decided to drop by. Then I began to listen to the way the pounding occurred. It wasn't just a few hits again and again with a short pause in between. It was constant motion of pounding. I let my ear up against the door to see if I could hear possible moans or groans coming from it. "Help me!" A soft voice whispered.

Carl instantly woke up and looked at me. I peered out the window and there was a little girl, an alive little girl, hitting the door. Carl was just about to open the door when I stopped him. As he went to turn the knob I grabbed his hand and shook my head. "Take a closer look." I said sitting back down. He peeked out the window and faintly noticed the small bite on her wrist. It was not worth it. She was as good as dead. Carl sighed and sat back down on the mattress. "This world is such shit." Carl complained.

I shrugged my shoulders and sat back down. At this point it was pitch black. No use of going out there and getting ourselves killed. The little girl ran off soon after we didn't let her in. Poor thing. Carl said he'd take watch first and would wake me in a few hours. I nodded and leaned back in my chair. It took a while but I soon drifted off to sleep.

~

When I woke up I could see the sun begin to rise through the window. Carl was fast asleep on the mattress. Ha, so much for waking me up for watch. I walked over and kicked Carl's boot to wake him up. He stirred around until he sat up and wiped his eyes. "You ready?" I asked walking to the door. I looked out the window and with our luck, there were no walkers. He nodded and stood up and adjusted his self.

We both had only small pistols with a combination of 7 bullets and a pocket knife; no food or water. I opened the door and peeked to the left and then the right until I took a step onto the soft, mushy ground. Carl stepped out behind me and we began to head in the direction that the giant herd came from in hopes of finding something....anything.

We walked for a while with no sign of anything including chompers. There were no broken down cars, no dead bodies on the road, no houses. It was just a forest with a road going down the middle. We were both silent. I didn't have much to say and by the sounds of it neither did he, so we walked. An hour went by when we saw a car in the distance, coming right for us. We began to panic. I ended up going to the left of the road, Carl went to the right.

It was probably not the smartest idea to split up in this situation. I ducked behind a small bush while Carl was behind a large rock. When the car got closer it began to slow down. Shit. We're fucked. The car came to a stop right in between Carl and I. I couldn't see him and he couldn't see me. I could see at least two people in the car, maybe three. I had no idea who they were and I had no intentions on finding out.
