"That's a lot for a two day show." Grace said, panting from the heavy loads.
"Well they have to make sure that if anything went wrong, they were prepared to take care of it." Walker said grinning. I sighed and said "Now we have to clean the horses.".
We all groaned in unison and laughed. I hopped up and went to Walker.
"Can you help me excersize the other horses while Grace and I get them ready?" I ask.
He stands up and grabs my hand.
"Whatever you want angel." He said. Before he walked away, he planted a kiss on my forehead. I blushed crimson and he went off to exercise Willow.
Grace raised an eyebrow and we giggled.
"So, who will be getting a spa day today?" Grace asked.
"Lemme think. We are bringing Cinch and Moonshine, but we will be more soaked then they are." I said grabbing two old rope halters. I handed a black one to Grace and kept the purple one. "You can grab Cinch, because he is filthy, and your taller. I'll grab Moonshine." I said, as we walked down the aisle. I opened Moonshines stall, and cooed to him. He curiously walked over and "kissed" my cheek. I scratched his head and said "Guess what day it is big man. It's bath day!" I say. He bobs his head, and lifts his lip. I laugh and put on the rope halter. I walk him out of the stall, and clip him into cross ties. I start the hose and fill the bucket with warm water. Then I add in some of my Suave Ocean Breeze shampoo. I grab my sponge and scrubby mitt, and throw it in the bucket while I water down his body. I spray it all over his back till it wet, and let him drink some. Ever since he was a baby, he would drink water out of the faucet during bath time.
I finished bathing him when I heard a shriek come from Grace. Cinch had shook all of the sudsy water on her, and she was soaked head to toe. I giggled and held my stomach.
"This is not funny Rosalie!" She said, some of her mascara running. I giggled even harder and she smiled. I walked over and plugged in the radio, and we finished washing the horses to "Your Lips Are Moving" by Megan Trainor.
**
We blanketed the now dry horses, and got out my cleaner kit. I pulled out some cornstarch, and showed Grace how to pull stains out of Cinch's white coronets. I put some water on his socks, then applied some cornstarch. Then I brushed it off, and wrapped them in his hunter green polos. Soon, we were finished, and Walker had come to check them out.
"Um did you guys wash the horses or did they wash you?" He said laughing. We both threw our towels at him, and he said truce.
"I bedded the stalls so they couldn't get too dirty, and gave them fresh hay, grain and water." He said taking Cinch from Grace.
"I'm gonna head home. I am wiped," Grace said. I eyed her and said "Wanna spend the night? That way you can help us get the horses in the trailer?"
"Oh that would be cool! I'll call my mom and just go to my house first to pick up some clothes ok?" See you around 6?" She said eagerly.
"Perfect. See yah later" I said, and smooched Moonshine down to the stall. I walked him in, and undid his halter. I have him a kiss, and turned around into Walker. He came in, closed the door, and came closer to me. He smelled of his cologne and mint. He pushed me up against the wall. I looked at him and said, "Walker, what's going on."
"How much do you want to bet, that I think you are the prettiest girl I have ever met." He said locking his gaze with mine. I gulped and said "I'd say a lot. Where do you think your going with this?" I question smartly. He snickers and replies, "You don't know how bad I want to kiss you right now." He said staring into my eyes. Finally, I just said "Well, you gonna kiss me or not?" And with that, he leaned in, almost as if in slow motion, and kissed me. Our lips touched, sending sparks through my body. I thrusted my hands around his neck, grabbing his hair, and He pulled my waist closer with one hand while pinning my wrist to the wall. We stood there, kissing each other until Moonshine started nudging us and nipping out hair. We laughed and I petted him for being good.
"Is that Coca-Cola lipgloss?" He asked smirking. I laughed and kissed him again.
"That smells good." He says. I look at him and say," So what is going to happen now?". He grins, and grabs my hand, "How about a date tomorrow after the barrel race. I got a real nice place for us to go." We walk down the isle and I nod. Maybe things will be different between us.
"Yeah, under one condition." I say. He looked confusingly at me, and tilted his head. "Don't be jealous of Colt. He is like my brother. Okay?"
"Okay."
