"Let's work on this song."

"Yea, let's."

You and Namjoon spent the next hour brainstorming ideas for the song. You explained to him the concept idea you had for one of the music videos, and both of you agreed that this song should have a music video too.

Laila came back with pizza and helped you brainstorm.

"I was thinking a kind of dark yet romantic concept for the song in general." Laila gave her input.

"Ya. Plus," you gestured to Namjoon, "This is your first collaboration since bts and you only have one solo mix out. You need to make it memorable."

Namjoon pressed the bridge of his nose. "I don't want this to be about me, this is your album."

"Yes but you're a part of it. So your fans talking about it is inevitable."

"Yea your right."

It was terrifying yet refreshing, having this kind of conversation with him. 16 year old you would have been screaming. You were telling the man you looked up to for years that his place on your album is important. Amina always said 'don't ever deny your progress.' You let yourself express your enthusiasm to the people you worked with on a daily and you were proud of that.

"So Laila what do you mean by 'dark yet romantic'?" You asked.

"Well the song can be as mature as you want since Namjoon is solo now, but I was thinking more about the mv. It could give off a Michael Jackson vibe with the storytelling and ambiance."

"Like the ones with the scenes at the beginning." You further explained.

"Exactly."

"See that sounds good, but we don't even have the song yet," Namjoon complained.

"What if it was like, two people at a bar and the guy, you, was tryna get with the girl, me, and she's like 'don't let me drunk cuz I would say yes and that would be bad for the both of us.'"

"Sounds like a vibe. Not mature enough to start a scandal, but enough to get people talking."

"Yup." You took a slice of pizza. "We should work on the lyrics."

The three of you started to come up with a beat and lyrics.

Your phone rang. You picked it up and left the room. It was Amina

"Hello?"

"Hi, Namjoons manager just called me and said he couldn't get a hold of him. Is he still with you?" You looked through the glass door at him making a beat with Laila. Why did they need to know where he was? He's not a baby.

As much as you wanted to lie to her you couldn't. There could have been an emergency.

"Ya, he's still here. We're working on the song so he probably just turned his ringer off."

"Ok, can you tell him that his manager is waiting for him at the penthouse?"

"Ya of course."

"Bye Luv ya."

"Luv ya." You didn't want to tell him. You didn't want him to leave, but your responsibility got the best of you. You pushed through the door back into the studio.

"Hey look at what we have." He pressed play. The music was was slow and groovy. It fit both of your vibes really well.

"Wow, that's really good."

"Who were you talking to?" Laila asked

"Oh Amina, she said that Joons manager has been trying to call him but he missed it."

"Oh shit, really?" Namjoon pulled his phone out of his pocket. He turned his phone screen around to show you the multiple missed calls. "Huh guess it was on silent. Did she say anything else?"

"She said that your manager wants to meet at your penthouse ASAP."

"Oh, we should call it a day then. I have a date at 6:00 I want to get ready for." Laila explained. You looked at the clock on your phone. It read 5:30.

"Ya, we should come back on Wednesday. I have label meetings tomorrow." You grabbed your bag and put on the sneakers you had kicked off.

Laila waved goodbye to you and Namjoon as she walked out. Namjoon turned to you.

"I didn't know we were on a nickname basis." He chuckled.

"What?"

"It's nothing, you called me Joon." He held the empty pizza boxes as both of you walked out of the studio.

"Oh, sorry, I wasn't trying to be rude in any way. Ya know mannerisms are different in English."

"No I know, but even still, most of the people that call me that have known me for years. I don't have a problem with it, it's just different."

"Oh." you smiled at him.

"Do you have anything to do after this?" he asked as he put the boxes in the communal recycling bin.

"Um, no I don't actually. Why?" You pushed the door open for him.

"Thanks. You should come to my apartment. we can write more of the song or just hang out."

"Ya, that sounds good."

The two of you rounded the corner onto the busy street. People clapped and yelled as cameras flashed. A paparazzi ambush neither of you expected. What would people think after the club photos and now these?

"What the hell," Namjoon grumbled. "Here." He grabbed your arm and pulled you into a black SUV.

"Dude don't grab me they're gonna think something is going on with us," you said after the car pulled out of the parking lot.

"Well, there is." He smiled.

"Your quite bold Mr. Kim."

"I was talking about the album, but you're not wrong."

You examined his face as he focused on the twisting road of the city. He went a bit above the speed limit to lose any paparazzi following the two of you.  His tongue poked the inside of his cheek, the same way it did when he saw his manager's texts. His hands were gripping the wheel a bit too tight.

"Hey, are you good?" You fiddled with the bag on your lap. You didn't want to make the conversation awkward, but you wanted to show him that you cared or at least wanted to be his friend.

"I'm fine." He pulled to the front lobby of his apartment building. Luckily the paparazzi wasn't there yet, so you had less of a chance of being caught going into his penthouse. "C'mon let's go."

Ok. You decided not to pry and go respect his personal space. Which meant you will definitely ask again later.

The two of you got out of the car and headed straight to the elevator at the back of the lobby. The elevator had gold buttons and sleek wood walls.

"This place is nice." You looked around you.

"Yea, I guess." He texted his manager to let him know that he was arriving soon.

"How much is the rent?" Namjoon stood next to you looking into the wall. "Joon."

"Mmh?"

"How much is the rent?"

"Oh, uhhh, I don't know. I don't remember. My manager likes to do my finances, which sucks cuz I don't feel like an adult, but I am gonna fire him soon I think anyway."

"That seems frustrating"

The doors dinged open.
