rehearsal

Your brain pounded and your bones creaked at the fourth hour of rehearsal. Your cotton shirt stuck to your skin, Namjoon had gotten rid of his all together. Beth, your choreographer had been repeating the phrase, "What's wrong? Somethings off with you guys." every ten minutes before she called a break and worked with backup.

"Are you hungry?" Joon sat next to you on the floor of the pit.

"I'm fine," you flopped over onto your side away from him.

"I'm sorry for the fight earlier, everything is happening all at once. I didn't mean to dismiss you like that."

"I'm sorry for getting into your business like that. You're right we haven't been together long and-"

"No we made an agreement, I was lashing out. It did make me realize that maybe we can't rush something like getting to know each other, maybe we just have to do it in a different way."

"You're probably right." you sat up and kissed him quickly, "I am kind of hungry now that I'm thinking about it."

He chuckled and stood up, making his way to the snack table.

After one more hour of rehearsal, in which you finally got the choreo right, the group broke for lunch. Namjoon was told by staff that he wasn't needed in the rehearsal after lunch since it was just your solo numbers but he told them "where the hell else am I supposed to go?"

So he sat in a director's chair in the pit and stared at you singing and dancing for 3 more hours. You sat on the stage and waved at him as the lighting crew worked out a sequence they had for your song Breathe for 30 minutes. He waved back before picking up his phone and exiting the theatre.

Despite your brain begging you to follow him and see if it was Jin again, you stayed onstage reviewing choreo in .5 speed for the next hour until they dismissed you and your dancers. You grabbed your stuff and ran to Amina.

"Hey did you see where Joon went?" you grabbed a water from the snack table.

"He's in the green room, I think he's in a meeting though."

"Thanks"

You walked as fast as you could on your tired feet to the green room. You opened the door to Namjoon with his head in his hands.

"Joon, what's up? You left so abruptly earlier. Is everything okay?"

He picked up his head to face you, his eyes were red with tears. You rushed towards his side, dropping your stuff on the floor.

"Jin's wife," he choked up.

You held back your reaction.

"Jin's wife is pregnant, and she's about to have the baby. Which is why I was going to Korea, but on the phone the other day Jin told me that she just got really sick out of nowhere so I should come instead of going on tour. Then we got into a fight about bringing you because he doesn't trust you around his new kid and sick wife cuz we've had some crazy fans and everything got out of hand."

"Okay," you rubbed his shoulder, "was it him on the phone?"

"Yeah, he just told me that when I come to Korea I won't be allowed to bring you to meet the guys because he doesn't want you around his family."

"I understand where he's coming from. People are grossly obsessed with you guys sometimes. You can go without me, I won't be upset Namjoon."

"I have a plan. We go on tour right, you meet the guys over facetime or something so they're adapted to you. Then we go to Korea in the spring."

"That sounds good," you leaned your head on his shoulder.

"Are we okay? I want you to be a part of my family, even though it's huge and messy and unfortunately famous,"

"We're good. Hearing you say that means a lot. I think we can get through this with as much communication as possible,"

He sighed and wrapped his arms around your waist. He pressed his lips to your forehead.

"God I need a drink," he chuckled, " also were not staying in the hotel room tonight,"

"Why?"

"I want to be on the bus, alone. Just the two of us," he picked up your bags, "let's go baby,"
