Bang! Thud! Crack!
"Who are you working for?" Ri Jeong Hyeok had his latest target in a chokehold as he glared down at the minion he has been tracking down for the past week.
"I know nothing." The minion gasped, struggling against his tight hold.
"You're lying. Where is Cho Cheol Gang?" Ri Jeong Hyeok growled darkly.
Instead, the minion suddenly smiled. A flash of silver and a blood-curdling shout later, Ri Jeong Hyeok slumped back onto the ground and ran his hands through his hair in frustration. Looking over at the minion, he reached over to close the minion's eyes before he stood up gingerly. Walking out of the alleyway, Ri Jeong Hyeok was absolutely frustrated with yet another dead end.
Another one...another minion that decided the easy way out was to kill himself.
Where was Cho Cheol Gang?
In the dark inky blackness, only the deep silver glow of the moon kept Ri Jeong Hyeok company as he climbed over the wall expertly and landed softly like a cat.
Like the moon, he felt alone. Alone in his mission, alone in his thoughts, alone in his hurt. Yet, here he was every night, tracking down the one and only person that he had the displeasure of ever meeting.
These days, it was getting more difficult to track down the rebels. Yet, Ri Jeong Hyeok would never be able to find complete peace until he does. He has a score to settle with their gruesome leader.
Yet, the motivation has been dwindling the past few days. All because of a certain bright-eyed beauty who has made him believe in the good of humanity again.
Yoon Seri.
Ri Jeong Hyeok knew that he should keep his distance. After all, a pure soul like hers was too precious for the likes of him. Despite the warmth and comfort Seri brought to him, there was that niggling thought in the back of his mind that he was tainting her honour. Sure he had saved her that one night from her ex. But, that was the nature of his job. To hunt down the villains of the night.
Except, he couldn't help but desire to get to know her. After that one night, her soulful eyes remained engrained in his memories and he sought her out again. He really should have kept his distance but he couldn't. It was as though some invisible string was tying them together. The magnetic pull was too strong to resist.
That same pull brought Ri Jeong Hyeok to the river once again. The place that was quickly becoming their secret escape from reality.
To Ri Jeong Hyeok, the river was the place where he was simply himself. It was the place that freed him from the title bestowed upon him at birth. It was the place that freed him from the chains of his sins. It was the place that freed him from all the bitterness in his heart. Above all, it was the place where he could see her again.
And there she was tonight, her porcelain like skin glowing under the lonesome moonlight. Naturally, she turned when she sensed his presence and he relaxed instantly when her crescent eyes smiled back at him.
"Night Panther!" Seri waved him over enthusiastically.
"You're early today." He chuckled slightly albeit seriously.
"I ended my shift on time."
"You should have waited for me. It's dangerous to walk alone at night."
"I've told you before. I'm not a damsel in distress. I know a few moves!" Seri nudged him playfully.
"Then allow me to teach you more." Ri Jeong Hyeok volunteered immediately.
