It was a new morning when Prince Hongjoong woke up; hearing the birds sing as they fly in the morning sky, wind blowing cold air due to the end of the year just around the corner, the castle staff bustling around making sure everything is in order.
Hongjoong was still trying to wake up properly from his dreamless slumber until one of the castle maid went in his room.
" Its time to rise and shine your majesty, you have guests coming over" said the maid as she was opening the curtains in the prince's bedroom.Hearing those words, the fourteen year old prince was now wide awake. Ever since Hongjoong's father became king, he along with his wife the queen and their friends, which were the kings and queens of the neighboring kingdoms, have decided that at the end of a year one will host a party just for themselves.
Their way of knowing who will host the party? Well it was the birth order of their children.
Prince Seonghwa and Prince Hongjoong himself were both born on the same year, but Seonghwa being a few months older. Next was Princes Yunho, Yeosang, San, Mingi, and Wooyoung, all were born the following year with only months of separation, and lastly Prince Jongho being the youngest, since the Choi kingdom have two princes, it would only be fair that they get to throw another party. So that the youngest prince won't be left out.
Getting snapped out his daydreaming, young Hongjoong was now wearing his prince clothing which was just a white button-up and black slacks, and was now making his way to the dining room, where his parents was now eating breakfast and discussing about the final plan for their party since it was their turn to host.
"Good morning father and mother."
Spoke Hongjoong while giving his mother a kiss on the cheek.
"Morning darling"said the queen with a loving smile on her face.
"Excited for tonight's party son?"
Asked the king.
"Yup, I'm super excited, i miss my friends so much!" Hongjoong said as he started eating his breakfast.
"Well, what have you prepared?"
Three years ago the prince and his friends have begged their parents to host their own party by themselves and fortunately enough the parents agreed, thinking it was a good idea so that they could do their own thing without worrying about the kids - of course they know what the princes were doing at their own party.
"I've thought about it, and I wanted to ask them that we should create a name for ourselves. And then spend the rest of the day outside, first playing in the snow and then go ice skating on the frozen lake!"
The King started to wonder what his son meant about 'creating a name for ourselves'.
"What do you mean about 'creating a name'"
"Well when mother read me the story of the musketeers, I thought that my friends and I should have a name too"
Hongjoong was by now done with his breakfast and was just excited to meet his friends again, especially Seonghwa, besides being close in age, they were really the closest to each other out of their friend group. Earning the title of 'Mom and Dad' in the group, since they were always there to take care of the younger princes.
To say the least both of their parents were proud, specifically their mothers.
" Their majesties has arrived"
As one of the castle servants announced that his friends have arrived, Hongjoong dashed through the castle hallways, reaching the entrance in record time to greet his friends and their parents.
"Guys!"
"Hyungs!"
All of the princes started running towards host prince, and got ambushed by hugs in a matter of seconds.
"Tonight is going to be amazing since were all together!"
Prince Wooyoung spoke, having the most energy out of all of them.
"I agree with Wooyoung"
Prince San said agreeing with Wooyoung, besides the two eldest they are another pair who are inseparable, both are partner's in crime when it comes to making mischief around the kingdom.
"You always agree with Woo, but to be honest I as well, am excited"
Prince Yeosang, besides being shy and often more reserved at the start, he can be brutal with his words and can be talkative when you get close to him.
"As long as we don't do anything to bad I'm safe in doing extra piano classes"
"And please tell me we won't be searching any more 'exotic' bugs you guys know that I get scared easily"
Prince Yunho and Mingi, the two tallest in the group.
"Oh right, hyung got really scared from finding a huge spider that jumped from the wall to his hand. He slept in his parents chambers for a whole week!"
Prince Jongho, the youngest of the eight princes, but acts like one of the oldest, is weirdly strong for his age - tell that to his past three violin bows he broke.
"Well I think anything that Hongjoong has planned will be amazing"
Lastly Prince Seonghwa the actual eldest, the group's 'mother' according to the others, even his parents thinks its adorable, tries his best to protect and take care of the kids, especially Hongjoong.
"I'll tell you guys at the base let's go!"
With that the princes ran inside the castle to talk about their plans, and left their parents outside.
"Should we follow them incase?"
Mingi's father questioned, they looked at each other knowing the answer and having a silent agreement.
"Let's get the party started!"
San and Jongho's mother broke the silence. And they too started making their way in the castle themselves, getting everything ready for tonight's celebration.
