The Sword***
Zhang Qi Ling peered over as Wu Xie left the house, heading into the park. Looking up Zhang Qi Ling could see they still had at least thirty minutes until night hit. He forced himself to stand on the tree, watching the dark brown haired man swing a sword in his hand. Zhang Qi Ling felt nostalgic, how long had it been since he last held a sword. Jumping back, Zhang Qi Ling retreated deeper into the park's little forest so that Wu Xie wouldn't sense him.
Swinging the sword, Wu Xie hit thin air, swiftly and skillfully moving along, striking air as he moved, as if he was taking on several enemies. He stabbed one, moved to the next, ducked and hit the nearest again, spinning and moving to the next.
Did Hei Xia Zi give me the wrong information?Wu Xie can fight, if he was fighting monster those move would be lethal, if aimed at the right spots of course. His moves are unpredictable yes, but he moves with his own style, can't say it's not effective but he concentrates on hitting his target. The way he moves takes no account in defense and even more if he had multiple enemies and they're all moving in a fight, Wu Xie will throw his entire attack into disarray and it will be difficult for him to come back fighting, Zhang Qi Ling thought.
Zhang Qi Ling nearly fell of the tree as a hand grasped his shoulder. He swiftly turned, his eyes turning fire blue and his teeth elongating. Transforming in this area was very dangerous and would give away his identity, therefore, he didn't do it. Only a small portion of his inner yang had been released.
He extended a punch to the culprit and his target quickly dodged causing Zhang Qi Ling to hit the tree with such force he almost tears the tree apart.
"I didn't mean to surprise you," The voice exclaimed. Zhang Qi Ling looked down seeing Xie Yu Chen, "You must have really been out of it, had you not even sensed me."
"I was watching Wu Xie practice with his sword," Zhang Qi Ling replied his eyes returning to their original onyx color and his teeth losing their fangs.
"He's skillful, right?" Xie Yu Chen asked.
"I don't know... Wu Xie's attacks are reckless and uncontrolled. If he can master his inner yang, I think he can be skillful in an actual fight. Weren't you out with San Ye and the others?" Zhang Qi Ling said.
"It's already been a couple of hours you know." Xie Yu Chen looked at Zhang Qi Ling, getting no reply, he continued, "This is the first time I've seen you since you've been back. Xia Zi was right, you haven't changed." Zhang Qi Ling stares at Xiao Hua, who gave a small laugh, then solemnly looked down before continuing, "We were worried about what would happen to you after Wu Laogou's death."
"Why is everyone so worried about me?" Zhang Qi Ling whispered, struggling to keep his voice level.
"Okay, I'm sorry Xiao ge. I shouldn't say anything when only Xia Zi's word for it," Xie Yu Chen stopped, oops.
So that traitor is talking about me to everyone, Zhang Qi Ling solemnly thought. "So Wu Xie has no power?" Zhang Qi Ling asked changing the subject.
"Not really, but he has a brilliant mind like his granddad."
"En," Zhang Qi Ling nodded in understanding.
"We haven't talked in over a years and you're still as quiet as always. You didn't even come to the funeral."
"I came, just not during the funeral."
"I know, Hei Zi told me he met you afterwards."
"I'm fine... please don't worry about me." Zhang Qi Ling flatly said, trying to restrain himself, knowing Xie Yu Chen's worry was well-placed but still unnecessary.
"You're right. I'm sorry. How's your training been, well if you had any," Xie Yu Chen asked.
"It's okay..." Zhang Qi Ling softly said. And continue to asked, "Shouldn't you return to your mansion?"
"Probably, I'm glad we finally got to talk even if it wasn't much. And thank you Xiao ge, for watching over Wu Xie. I truly appreciate it." Xie Yu Chen smiled.
Zhang Qi Ling couldn't get rid of this feeling that Wu Xie is important to Xie Yu Chen, the reason—he didn't know, and before he can restrained himself, "Why is Wu Xie so important? Is he worth it?" He asked unconsciously.
"Yes, he is." Xie Yu Chen said, looking straight at Zhang Qi Ling. "And I hope that you can protect him. He's... very important to me." Xie Yu Chen said it as if it pains him.
Zhang Qi Ling was suddenly hit by something he couldn't understand. Is he allowed to know? Or is it an illusion created by his imagination.
"I should go now. See you around Xiao ge." Xie Yu Chen bid farewell to Zhang Qi Ling— ending their conversation.
And after a few minutes Zhang Qi Ling left as well.
