As my sword pierced the abdomen of the creature, it let out a scream that rang throughout the forest. It sounded like a roar but you could hear a bit of humanness in it.
Instead if dissolving, it hardened like a sand statue. Then the statue gradually crumpled into dust and a mist like smoke escaped from the place I had pierced it. It swirled around Lucy before the sword absorbed it. Lucy momentarily glowed brighter.
I looked around at the hunt to find wounded bodies on the ground. All were writhing in pain and the healers were trying, unsuccessfully, to help them. I saw Artemis in a corner sobbing silently. I sighed.
I extended my hand and bluish flames escaped from my fingertips. They danced around my hand, before speeding towards the injured hunters. Upon coming in contact with the flames, the hunter's breathing slowed and their eyebrows relaxed. That should reduce the pain for a bit.
I knew what I had to do. I could no longer stay with the hunt. They were no match for the locusts and me being here, would only cause more of them to attack.
I turned towards the opposite side and took one last glance at Artemis. She looked at me and for a moment, we just stood there, looking at each other. She nodded and I turned. She wasn't all bad. I relaxed my shoulders and expanded my wings.
With a flap, I took off into the evening sky. After flying for a few minutes I landed at a secluded spot. I recited the prophecy in my head.
Son of Light, of The One Who is Damned; With Whose Help, Travels to the Cursed of Land
The 'Son of Light' is probably me, but I can't exactly guarantee that. The 'one who is Damned' is obviously Lucifer or Abad'don...and I doubt the latter would help me. The cursed land was the one I had doubts about. I had a suspicion but that's all it was.
Also the monster's warning was not something to be ignored. It said that 'it has begun'. That might be problematic.
"You shall perish. So shall the girl" said an ancient voice in my head. My eyes widened in surprise as I summoned Lucy.
"Show yourself" I ordered. But all I got in response was the sound of chirping of some birds, from a far away. I asked again only to find no response.
I gave up and was about to head on before I remembered something. Who was the girl the voice was talking about?
My eyes widened in realisation and I dissolved into bright light. I reappeared on the bottom of the hill of the place that I hated the most.
Camp Half-Blood
I muttered some curses as I ran towards the camp barrier. I was about to walk in but the sound of the conch horn blowing three times interrupted me. I watched as campers ran out, armed, into the open and formed groups.
When they realised who their 'attacker' was, some of them let out a surprised gasp. Others looked incredibly nervous. I just ignored them while my eyes searched the crowd of demigods gathered. Where was she?
"Why are you here traitor?" Asked a familiar voice. I looked at the person and was saddened as I saw one of my favourite cousins.
"Nice to see you too Nico" I said with a sad smile.
"You are no cousin of mine. You lost the right to call us family when you turned your back on Olympus" he said angrily. He raised his hand and ten skeleton warriors rose up from the ground. Their eyes were hollow and their teeth were rotten.
"Nico please. I do not wish to fight anyone." I said trying to communicate calmness in my words. Nico looked doubtful for a second before scowling.
"Why have you come here then?" He asked while narrowing his eyes. I sighed. I really didn't want to tell him, but I had to.
"I've come here... for Andromeda" I said. Nico's eyes widened for a second before he snarled at me. "What have you done to her you monster?" he yelled, confusing me. Was he pretending?
"What? No I'm here to check up on her" I said worryingly. "Andromeda has been missing for two days" my eyes widened as Nico told this.
"Oh no no no no. This can't be happening" I said pacing around. Nico pointed his sword at me "Surrender peacefully Perseus, and we will show you mercy" said Nico. It hurt when he called me Perseus.
"What's with everyone offering me mercy?" I thought aloud before summoning my sword.
The power radiating from Lucy caused some nervousness in the skeleton warriors and a bit of uneasiness among the demigod army.
"Don't do this Nico" I said, trying to reason with him. He just ignored me and charged. The campers followed him.
"Very well then" I said in a grim voice.
"Let's play with your own domain" I said with a mischievous smirk. I raised my hands and pointed my palm to Nico's skeleton warriors. Instantly they dissolved into dust. Nico looked back in surprise.
He looked angry, but shook it off and summoned shadows to his aid. More skeleton warriors rose up from the ground to reinforce him. He might not have been a greek 'god' but he had certainly increased his skill with his powers.
I looked around and saw around fifty undead warriors and around a hundred demigods surrounding me.
I grinned before clenching my hand into a fist. As I did, the earth shook and a massive crack opened in the ground. Thousands upon thousands of skeleton warriors came out from the crack and formed a protective circle around me.
I snapped my fingers and vines erupted from the ground. They formed huge tentacles that whipped at anyone who got close. With a motion of my hand thunder started rumbling and lightning struck at semi-random places near me. I made sure not to hurt anyone seriously. Lastly, with a tug of my gut I summoned waves of water from the ground and from the nearby sea.
To sum it up... it was looking awesome
Everyone were stunned by the power I possessed. No one dare approach the skeletal legion. The demigods slowly back away, towards camp.
I smirked and was about to speak, but the high pitched sound of a lion roaring from afar caught my attention. My eyes widened as the situation dawned on me. The sound of wings beating was evident. I turned towards the campers and said one word.
"Run"
