Mysterious Ice Cream Girl

   Only after the words left my mouth, did I see the state in which Edward lay in front of me. He was in his human form, completely bloodied and bruised. There was a long cut starting from his neck, reaching a little above his hips.

   His face had burn marks, his hair was completely messy and his arms were bleeding. The bracelets and anklets he had were glowing a deep red colour. I still didn't know what they were meant for. I could hear his heavy laboured breathing from across the cave.

   I tried to think straight but the dizziness made it hard to concentrate. After a few attempts, I managed to get up and stand upright. I noticed that I didn't have my weapons. I looked around and saw the Sword of Eden lying on a nearby rock. I limped towards it and picked the sword up. 

   Another wave of nausea hit me and I had to use the sword as a cane to stop myself from falling. I heard the sound of footsteps approaching me. I looked at the direction of the sound to see Andromeda running towards me. 

   I was relieved for a second before my eyes widened in alarm as I saw Edward looking at her. He extended his arms and a huge wind shoved Andromeda. She stumbled on the edge of a cliff before loosing her balance.

   "Noo!" I yelled and ran towards her. Fortunately, I saw her grab on to the ledge of the cliff. Out of the corner of my eyes I saw Edward shift. 

   "Perseus!" yelled Edward in a loud but pained voice. The authority in his voice made me stop dead in my tracks. I looked at him to see him holding the staff of Moses in his arms. The staff started glowing a violent shade of red.

   "You will pay for what you've done! I shall destroy this wretched staff even if it means my death!" he said and held the staff with both of his arms. It started glowing brighter and brighter and I could literally see Edward's essence flowing into the staff to destroy it.

   If I hurried, I could stop him from destroying the staff. But then, Andromeda wouldn't be able to hold on that long. I could choose only one...either the staff or Andromeda. The words of the prophecy repeated themselves in my head...

     Yet he must Choose, the one he Ought Most...

   The staff was the key of the bottomless pit. Without it, the world would be ravaged by monsters that couldn't be killed. I knew what I had to do. Many may disagree with me but I had to do it...

   I ran towards Andromeda...

   "Grab my hand!" I yelled as I reached her. With much effort, she grabbed my hand and I pulled her up with all my strength. I then placed her on the ground and extended my wings. The energy being released from the staff of Moses gave off a blinding yellow light that lit up the entire cave.

   "Close your eyes" I instructed her as I wrapped my wings around us, forming a protective barrier.
