The blew over and Sophia still had not found her wand. She had searched everywhere and had given up. She decided that it might be time to buy a new one.
She walked into her first class on Monday with low expectations. DADA was once her favourite class (despite the irregularity in professors), but Umbridge managed to magically change that in one lesson. Ironically, no magic was actually involved.
"Ah Miss Rosier, You have decided to join us," Umbridge smiled wide. Her voice was sickeningly sweet. Sophia hated her.
"Excuse my lack of punctuality, Professor," Sophia needed an excuse. She couldn't tell her that she got carried away styling her hair. "I had some issues with my cat, you see. She's sick."
"I suppose I can let you off with a warning this one time," she kept smiling.
Sophia took that as her cue to sit beside Daphne in the empty seat. Draco happened to be on the table right beside her.
Sophia began to take out her book but noticed that Umbridge was walking towards her rather than resuming the lesson.
"I believe this-" she slammed Sophia's wand on her desk, "-belongs to you, Miss Rosier?"
"I-uh," Sophia blinked at her wand. "Yes."
"May I ask, If you don't mind, just how did your wand manage to wind up in Mr Malfoy's private chambers?"
Both Draco and Sophia's eyes widened.
Shit.
Sophia was at a loss for words.
Thankfully, Draco came to save the day. "I accidentally took her wand, Professor."
Umbridge turned to face him, her ass practically in Sophia's face.
"Is that so?"
"Yes. When we were in the common room. I was going to return it on Saturday but I thought I lost it."
"How did you come across it, Professor?"
She stiffened and walked back towards the front of the class. "Ministry-approved weekly room inspections."
The class abrupted in conversation. This woman was ordering that their private belongings be searched through weekly? The students were enraged at the violation of privacy.
Harry Potter stood up.
"Are you sure the minister approved this?"
"Of course," she smiled sweetly. "I wouldn't lie to you all. Lying is bad. You know all about that Mr Potter."
Potter looked like he was about to shoot laser beams out of his eyes straight through her head.
He sat down and mumbled to himself angrily.
"What about dumbledor?" A student at the back asked. "Does he know?"
"Why would it matter, dear?" She sat down on her pink throne behind her desk. "The minister is not beneath him."

Classes were finally over.
Most of the school was out watching the first match of the year. Many were excited to finally watch a quidditch match after an entire year without it.
Today's match was between Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw.
Sophia only ever watched the Slytherin matches to support her brother who was a chaser. On days where Slytherin did not play, Sophia would utilise the time to get some quiet time to herself.
