Chapter 6 part two:
Adrian's POV
"Well, there Mr Player, I didn't know you could cook so well." She took another sip from the mug of steaming hot chocolate. Jasmine looked so adorable wrapped in the white blanket. My top looked so good on her, that it made me wonder if it was actually made for her. She had one of my sister's tights on; I didn't give her one of my sister's top just for the fact that I wanted her to wear one of mine. She looked so weak and fragile, which made it look like if I touched her she would break. There has to be reason to why she looked so beaten up?
"There seriously has to be a reason to why you were out there in the rain."
"Why can't you accept that fact that there was no reason behind it?"
"Because you're a very bad liar." My response came out a lot snappier than I expected.
"Can't you just leave me alone," god, she was being stubborn.
"Hey, that day on the beach, you were going to say something about your parents?" she was a sneaky little thing but I guess I can play her game.
"There, there you being your little sneaky self," she glared at me like I had grown another head, "what about this, I will tell that if you tell me why you were out there in the rain?"
She let out sigh, "It's my parents, I think they're going to file a divorce and lately they both have been trying to bribe me into staying with them and today my mum found out that my dad was cheating on her and she got quite viral, so yeah."
"I don't get, why do harm yourself because of your parents."
"You don't get it because you're not me." Wow, that girl got sass.
"There you go again being your arrogant self."
"Me, arrogant? I think you're talking about yourself."
"Further explanation needed."
"You call me sneaky but now you're the one who's veering off topic. I thought we had a deal its your turn to complete your end."
Oh god, what do I do now? I don't think I am ready to tell someone what really happened. "I was going to tell you that my parents divorced and well, it's hard at first but then you start realising that it was for the best." The lie came stumbling out of my mouth; it felt normal as I sold it to everyone and it sound true even to me.
"Well, every family isn't the same. If your parents are divorced than why aren't you staying with one of them?"
"Well.... Uhm, my mum is in Brisbane for the week to visit my grandparents and after my parents divorced my father went back to Germany." I couldn't even believe myself I had become so good at this game of lying that I could make up a believable story on the spot.
"Well I think I know that your parents are divorced. I mean I think the whole school knows."
"Well, yeah, the whole school knows that part but they don't know that my bother suicided because of that," an awkward silence followed after that I had just told her part of the truth, that was good enough for now.
"I am so sorry," her voice was barely audible.
"It wasn't your fault, you shouldn't apologise for something you didn't do."
"I am sorry," she repeated.
"What are you sorry for?"
"I always never really thought you had these problems and listening to them now makes me realises mine are so minor compared to yours. I am so sorry for not listening to you before."
"Drop the subject, oh last time you forgot something here."
I sped to my room and fumbled throw my drawers until I found what I was looking for. When I came back out Jasmine was still sitting in the same spot looking fragile as ever.
"You left your purse here," I placed here sky blue purse in her lap as she looked.
"Oh, thank you," a small smile was tugging on her lips.
She unwrapped the blanket from around her, placed the finished mug of hot chocolate on the table and lifted herself of the sofa.
"I better get going, my parents will be wondering where i went. Thank you for," she paused for a bit, "for everything," and flashed a smile at me.
I wasn't going to let her going that easily, I had to tell her now or I would lose my chance. She was about to open the door, but then I lashed out to her. I pulled her by the arms toward to me. God, why did I feel so nervous about this, I had kissed so many girls before why was it so hard this time. The answer came to me as fast as you could say the word 'Nando's' because she was Jasmine and not just any other girl.
I brought my face down to her, her lips where inches away from mine-
WTH!
"Do you ever feel like a plastic bag?" Her phone started ringing, just great!
Jasmine's POV
I whizzed through the rain like a cheater. What was wrong now? Was mum sick? Was she dead? Did the house blow up? My father rang me telling me to come home immediately just as Adrian was about to kiss, well I think he was. What was I thinking; thank god my dad interrupted otherwise, I don't know what would have happened. I couldn't believe it I was going to be trapped in his charm like all the other girls. He would get with me, screw me and then dump. I wasn't going to let him ruin me, what the hell was he thinking!?
I was drenched head to toe again as I walked up to the front door of my house. To my surprise the front door was unlocked. I slid the door open and there in my living room a very professionally looking man sat with my parents with a lot of papers scattered in front of him. What on earth was going on?
"Your dad and I are going to get divorced. I have decided that I am going to move to America but your dad will be staying here. You have the choice to stay with either of us."
Oh no... please tell me this is a dream, no I mean a nightmare!
A.N I am not going to ask anymore if you like this vote and comment. I am kind of having a writers' block and I admit it myself that chapter's pretty crappie sorry for all the grammar and spelling mistakes. I thought about it and will edit this after I am finished with it.
P.S Merry Christmas. It is raining here so I am guessing this is how Christmas is in the northern hemisphere.
Vote, comment, fan for quicker updates. They motivate me to write.
Until next time, sweeties
