Chapter 13:

*Jasmine's POV*

The car came to a halt in front of the cottage-like house.

I opened the car door and was confronted by a cold breeze of air slamming into my face. When I reached my fronted I fumbled through my duffle bag and fished out my silver keys to the front door.

The usual creaking noise was made when I walked in, as my blue vans made contact with the timber floor. I walked past the lounge room and something seemed completely wrong about it. A figure was situated on the lounge.

If I'm right, there shouldn't be any home this time of the day. Mum usually had work till 8pm on Friday, but here she was, sitting on the couch. She was so caught up in her phone that she hadn't yet realised my presence in the room but that was going to change.

"mmhmmm," I tried clearly my throat, and lets like reinforce the 'tried' because it was a fail. It ALWAYS is a complete fail.

"Oh, your home."

"It's about time you realised."

"Yeah, sorry about that."

"Any whore..."

"Did you just say whore?"

"Umm. Ahh.."

"Don't worry. It's quite funny. What where you saying," that's just weird aren't parents supposed to blow at you when you said something like that. That was just completely utterly weird.

"Umm, I was just saying why you are home so early."

"Oh, I forget to tell you, every second Friday I finish work early."

"Right, that explains a lot."

I was about to leave the living room when my mum said the unexpected, "Irony rang me today and told me about the party, so I thought you might need a dress so I went and brought you one. I put it on your bed, hope you like it."

"MUM! Have you ever thought of the idea that maybe I don't want to go? Just because Irony rang up and asked i don't see how that makes you think I want to go."

"Well, I thought it would be good idea and I already told Irony that you will be going and it would be rude if you didn't show."

"For heaven's sake, I don't think they even will realise if I don't turn up. They literally invited the whole school."

"That's it! I don't want to hear another word, you're going and that's that."

Ahhhhhh! There goes my hope on winning the argument. I stomped down the hallway and slammed my bedroom door as loud as possible.
