CLOUDBURST
(n.) a sudden and very heavy rainfall.
I like the word cloudburst. It sounds nice, and the definition of it makes sense. It's like "the cloud burst into tears", which technically means raining. And when something bursts, its a sudden thing, isn't it?
Examples:
He was on a lovely walk to shake off his hard emotions, but suddenly something wet splashed on his head. And then all of a sudden, everything was a blur as the rain thundered down. He was annoyed with the cloudburst and moodily returned home.
Suddenly, she burst into tears in front of her friend, like a cloudburst.
